They found that people experiencing homelessness are at 50% more risk of passing away from COVID-19 than the housed population. We also discussed the issue around disproportionate resources in hospitals across LA depending on the level of privilege one has, which highlights the stacked disparities that people experiencing homelessness face.

A Tribute to Relly

We are devastated by the loss of Relly Brown. We first met Relly in 2017 and they have been a member of the Lens Co team and collaborator since our inception.

Relly’s contributions to our community are immeasurable. We are immensely grateful that they shared their voice, experience, and spirit with us. They were a relentless advocate for ending youth homelessness in Los Angeles and across the country. There is no doubt that the way we think about and address youth homelessness is different because of Relly’s contributions.

In November 2018, Relly helped us put on the Young People to the Front Summit and recorded conversations with their peers for Hello Dogtown. Please listen.
