“Imagination, whether that be used for storytelling and all these different facets of the human experience, are ultimately about creating a sense of empathy, so that you can understand other people’s experience. At the end of the day, we’re trying to find these ways to connect with one another. And so, it’s super important that we instill that in our children and hopefully create a better world because of that. Ultimately, it's an ancient desire that has been around since as long as humans have been sharing or fermented drink over a fire." —Marian Leitner-Waldman</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Terri Brax — Lessons in Resilience, The Power of the Collective, Rightful Spotlights, Women in Tech, Dialing Up the Change, and Much More!

Terri Brax (@terribrax) is an entrepreneur, connector and community builder. She is the founder of TeacherCare (@teachercare), a nationwide agency for private teachers and the founder and CEO of Women Tech Founders (@womentechfounders), a leading voice for the tech startup ecosystem around female entrepreneurs.

Terri Brax — Lessons in Resilience, The Power of the Collective, Rightful Spotlights, Women in Tech, Dialing Up the Change, and much more (#002)!

“I was able to come into the tech community that was happening in Chicago at that time, and things were just kind of lifting off the ground. There was so much work to do on so many different levels.

But there was also this community of people there that I found, that I had never been exposed to before, that felt like, let's go change the world. As difficult as it was being a woman of color coming into that, there was also a very special camaraderie and we have your back at the same time. At that point, less than 3% of all startups were led by women.” —Terri Brax</itunes:summary>
