12% of women (and men!) in the US are dealing with infertility right now, which means that you most likely know quite a few women around you who have dealt with a fertility journey.

When I first came upon Booki Vivat's book series, "Frazzled", I instantly knew I wanted them. I was vending at a market and decided I was going to buy them from my book seller neighbor, (but Camilo said I bought enough books... then later bought them for me for Christmas, so it was a win!) Not only is she an author/illustrator (win again!), but she’s obsessed with pastries.

It was so exciting to get to interview someone who (also) wrote and illustrated a book for middle grade kids, and Booki’s story is super interesting! Make sure to listen to find out how she went from working at a publishing house, to becoming a published author, without even pitching any books!!

For the last five years, she have been exploring her ambivalence and feminist questions by posting pink drawings on her Tumblr blog. She then went viral and her work has been turned into products, videos, installations and even a podcast called Rebelliously Tiny.

One of the coolest parts of her artwork if that she challenges the social norms, sharing various political and feminist beliefs, and by doing that she connects with such an abundance of people.

In all honesty though, since I became a Mom, this has been WAY harder. WAY WAY harder. Mom Brain is a real thing, and I often can’t even remember to wear shoes when I leave, let alone remember all my reusable items, but I’m trying my best. :)

Today’s inspiring episode is with Heather Davulcu aka April Heather Art. We covered so many topics, from Friendship to Illness, and how art helped her cope with her pain she was feeling. We also chatted about how one bridesmaid card changed the course of her art career.

Friendship was a big full circle of topic in this episode. We talked about learning how not only to make friends as a adolescent, but as an adult as well. I literally cried while editing this. I’m so inspired by Heather (and Alyssa from episode 3)’s bravery - they both got bulled and then both joined tons of groups to make friends, even though joining things and meeting new people is scary!

PS: You can tell when I recorded this, it was almost Mother’s Day! Ha! But her women marching artwork is so amazing and still available!!

I have something exciting and scary to share with you..

but first a story...

Growing up I was basically told I was too dumb to be in the "regular" classes. So i got lumped with the slacker rich kids who just didn't give a crap and you know what? It made me just give up and not give one single crap either.

(Not that i cared that much anyways lol but still...)

Fast forward life and I *still* felt like the dumb kid who can't learn new things. (i literally did NOT know i wasn't an idiot until i was 25, i even wrote about it in my book)

But this year, life has to change, my business has to change, and I've decided to start an encouraging podcast to discuss mental wellness, imperfection and failure/getting back up and holy CRAP i have never researched this much. For ANYTHING as I have for this podcast and gosh DARNIT, i WILL start this freaking podcast if it .... makes me eat dozens of cookies.

So... this leads me to YOU, dear friends!
