What did 2018 bring for me?

In order to make the best decisions for the future, I often review my past. It’s never a great idea to dwell on it but it can be really productive to take some time and understand what’s happened and why. To use this reflection to help make great decisions, stay focused and keep challenging myself.

In 2018, I ran 1,300 kilometers, read some really interesting books and my eldest daughter, Lilly, started school. I spoke at lots of events, mentored some amazing young companies and grew MiniCorp further. I feel proud and humbled to be where I am but it’s not without my fair share of hitting brick walls head on.

When I started MiniCorp I spent about 7 minutes coming up with the name and 30 seconds finding a logo on Iconfinder. Three years later, we’ve gone through a lot of growing pains and I could not be more proud of the company.

We’ve just started a rebrand and identity change, we’re moving offices to WeWork and deploying two new products to our clients. It’s 24/7 growth.

Changes I've made to my daily rituals — Episode 17

In this episode, I discuss my new daily rituals and how they have affected my overall mood, growth, and energy over the past month. For one hour before I go to bed and after I wake up, I ban the use of screens including my iPhone and Apple Watch. I've also greatly increased the number of books I'm reading and podcasts I'm listening to in an effort to learn more about my interests.

I also discuss how things are progressing in MiniCorp. What we are focusing on and how team communication and asking questions is a core focus of our culture.
