Wellness With Wally

Hi,
This is health coach Wally Bishop and welcome to Wellness With Wally. In this podcast we talk about how to apply nutrition and lifestyle changes to reboot your health and happiness! In 2006, I weighed over 450 pounds and had many health problems. By learning about nutrition and adapting holistic healthy living principles, I was able to lose more than 220 pounds and have kept it off. By adapting these natural holistic principles I reversed many health problems including diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure to name a few. Who better to coach you than someone who faced the challenges you have, and has beaten them.

Marijuana, CBD Oil, Hemp Oil, Our Endocannabinoid System and How to Pick the Best Product

In this episode we do a deep dive into the very confusing world of cannabis and CBD oil. Not getting too technical but practical information to help understand how they work and the best products for use. Cannabis is the family of flowering botanical plants that give us marijuana, modified cannabis sativa for CBD oil and industrial hemp. One is rich in THC and low in CBD and the other has very little THC and higher amounts of CBD. And one has little of either compound. We also explore the effects they have on our Endocannabinoid (ECS) System and What the ECS actually does. What foods contain cannabinoids and how to tell good CBD oil products from bad products.

There are many ways within a healthy lifestyle to help reduce the risk of and even prevent catching the flu, cold or respiratory infections. In this podcast we explore the foods that increase the risk and the foods, nutrients and supplements that reduce the risk and even prevent these infections. Its all about knowing which foods and chemicals increase risk and which ones reduce the risk and we explore of of them in today's podcast. Certainly no approach is 100% guaranteed but this approach has proven time after time to greatly help reduce the risk of infection. And, in the event you do become infected, the duration should be much shorter when applying these principles.

Sweeteners, the Best, the Worst and Why

In this episode we discuss all types of sweeteners from A to X literally. We cover the different types and forms of sweeteners such as artificial, processed, less processed, fiber based and non-fiber all natural sweeteners. Then we finish with the very best Wally approved sweeteners! You might be surprised which ones are the best for our health. We all need to get comfortable with our foods being less sweet. Use sweeteners sparingly regardless which ones you use. In this episode I did fail to discuss date sugar. Date sugar is a great all natural sugar but it is best to grind up the dates and add to your foods. Dates have many positive health properties. However, dates do have raise blood sugar and insulin levels so use dates sparingly if you are trying to limit the sugar in your diet.
