Four Questions

Welcome to Four Questions, a podcast from Ayin Press about the power and art of questioning.

At the heart of the Passover seder lie four questions: deceptively simple yet endlessly prismatic, they embody the ever-evolving Jewish tradition of inquiry. Four Questions draws on this sacred technology to stage a series of expansive and interdisciplinary conversations between artists, philosophers, activists, and teachers from distinct worlds. In each episode, two people meet through the vulnerable act of asking and answering four open-ended questions. Through a textured landscape of language, music, and silence, each question is revealed as a doorway, an invocation to the unknown. Rather than interviews, these conversations are intimate encounters whose themes reach across traditions and time spans—touching art, science, religion, theater, politics, and beyond.

The show features guests such as multidisciplinary artist Cannupa Hanska Luger, Rabbi Jericho Vincent, philosopher Báyò Akómoláfé, Rabbi Nate DeGroot, writer adrienne maree brown, theater director Zhailon Levingston, and many more.

At a time when so much media is transactional and reductive, Four Questions offers a glimpse of another kind of discourse. Grounded in Jewish wisdom, yet reaching far beyond it, Four Questions brings together diverse thinkers for wide-ranging conversations that explore the act of questioning as a spiritual, artistic, and universal practice.
