Economical Education: Utah Teaching Fellow's Bridgette Barrows and Steven Phelps

Welcome to Edtrex Rewind Episode 18!

While at SXSWEDU Week this past March, Quin and Matt met the national leader for the Hope Street Group. This nonprofit organization seeks “to ensure every American will have access to tools and options leading to economic opportunity and prosperity.” One of their main projects is to sponsor teachers across the United States to be Teaching Fellows and we were lucky enough to sit down with six of them to do a series of podcasts on a variety of subjects. This week we sat down with Steven Phelps and Bridgette Barrows, two of the Utah Teaching Fellows, to discuss how economics affects education. Join us for this amazing conversation!

Welcome to Edtrex Rewind Episode 17!

May was a busy month for Edtrex! Both Matt and Quin traveled for professional development experiences and had a great time making connections. Quin traveled to Niagra Falls for the annual Connect ED conference. After the conference he visited the Future Design School in Toronto. Hear how he weaved his design thinking course in Utah to his visit. On the other side of the continent Matt visited Vandenberg Air Force Base for NASA’s Insight mission launch. As part of the NASA Social Team Matt was able to see the background of the entire mission and see the hard work that goes into launching a mission to Mars. We are more than excited to share out adventures and insights.
