Tina B has had an impressive career that kicked off in the early 80s. She started by recording backing vocals for Arthur Baker's projects, including the classic North End. We had a chance to catch up with our brother, The Mad Stuntman, born Mark Quashie, is a Trinidadian-American singer, songwriter, and performer renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the music industry, particularly within the realm of electronic dance music (EDM) and reggae tusion. Born on January 24, 1967, in Trinidad and Tobago, he later relocated to the United States, where his career flourished.

The Mad Stuntman's rise to fame can be attributed to being half of the music duo 'Reel 2 Real', notably for their chart-topping hit "I Like to Move It" in the early 1990s. The hit single went on to be used as the theme song in the movie

I had the opportunity to catch up with the very popular and famous Miami Bass Group, L'Trimm. L'Trimm is a Miami bass hip-hop duo composed of Bunny D and Lady Tigra. Originally from Coconut Grove, Florida, they recorded three albums for Atlantic Records: Grab It! in 1988 (certified Gold by the RIAA), Drop That Bottom in 1989 (which earned them the title of Hip-Hop Goddesses of the Month by The Source), and Groovy in 1991. They are currently touring again and working on new music.

We had a chance to catch up with our buddy Samuel Morales, and here's a little info:

Samuel Morales, a New Yorker of Puerto Rican descent, began his career with the club anthem “Open Your Eyes” (Cutting Records) featuring Safire. This song became a worldwide hit, especially in Brazil, where it inspired the Funk music genre and remains highly popular. Using the moniker Sam Savon, he released hits like “My Heart Alone” and collaborated with Albert Cabrera on songs such as “Catch & Kiss” and “Reach Out to Love” with Judy Torres.

Morales has also written for artists like Lil Suzy and Judy Torres, and his vocals are featured on hits by Fascination, Sebastian, and Corina. His UK Top 40 dance/pop single “Just Me & You” was licensed to over 25 labels worldwide, featuring remixes by Grant Nelson and Joey Negro.

Currently, Samuel is promoting his new single “Somebody Special,” which is on rotation on Rio’s TV MAX. A veteran of over 350 live performances, he recently performed at the “Baile dos Sonhos” festival, to thousands in Brazil.

Morales describes himself as “very ambitious and patient,” focused on making music and supporting other Hispanic performers.

Born as Elsie Rodriguez in The Bronx, New York, Fascination, has always dreamt that one day she would be a successful recording artist. With that in her mind, she studied music, drama, and dance. Her love for dancing is what actually gave Fascination her big break in the Freestyle business. She was discovered dancing up a storm at the Copacabana in New York City, where she was introduced to producer Todd Terry.

Fascination's first release, "Why Ya Wanna Go" under Vinylmania Records, was a huge success that it was later followed by another huge hit, "Don't You Think It's Time". After the success of her first two releases, Fascination was signed to Lumar Records. In 1990, "Remember" was released and hit Billboard's Dance charts which then led to a major endorsement deal with Coca-Cola. During the time "Freestyle Lives" was released, Fascination had just released her next single under Cutting Records entitled "Still Miss You", she is currently collecting material for her a future album.

Sammy Zone, Reinaldo, and Peter Fontaine were all once signed to Tony Garcia's High Power Records, a prominent freestyle music label in the 1990s. They all had promising music careers under Garcia's management, but as time went on, their relationships with him began to deteriorate.

According to Sammy Zone, the issues began when Garcia started to prioritize his personal interests over the well-being of his artists. "Tony was all about himself and his own agenda," Zone said. "He stopped caring about the music and the artists, and it became all about money and power for him."

Reinaldo echoed this sentiment, stating that Garcia became increasingly controlling and manipulative as their careers progressed. "He would try to dictate every aspect of our music and our lives, and if we didn't comply, he would threaten to ruin our careers," Rinaldo explained.

Peter Fontaine also had negative experiences with Garcia, claiming that he was cheated out of royalties and denied creative control over his music. "Tony would make promises he couldn't keep and would constantly change the terms of our contracts without our consent," Fontaine said. "It was a toxic environment to work in."

Eventually, all three artists parted ways with Garcia and High Power Records, citing irreconcilable differences and a lack of trust in their former manager. The Original Cover Girl (Angel) caught up with Freestylin with Stevie B to set the record str8 on the history of this iconic group. As Freestyle music makes its remarkable return, Freestyle artist get a second wind, and shower America

with Freestyle club and concert events. The struggling life of the Freestyle artist slowly levels off, and their

greatest fears are finally put at ease. All except one artist that is, Angel, known as The Original CoverGirl,

or better yet, "The OCG".

Angel's history and hard work had become threatened, as old management attempted to re-enter her life

and disrupt what her current management had been working so hard to rebuild. As the lead singer of the

original hit girl group "The Cover Girls", Angel's unique look and sound held one of Freestyle's most

familiar signatures.

Drama behind the scenes boiled over, and old management acted upon their "my way or the highway"

attitude, concocting a plan that would try and recreate "The Cover Girls", a feat that did nothing but add

mockery to the treasured Cover Girl name and hurt, an already beat up Freestyle market.

That plan might have been successful if Recordings and Videos that focused solely on Angel didn't exist,

but as we now see, God is the best of planners!

Phone calls and letters from old management flooded the market, threatening law suits on anyone who

dared do business with Angel. But this time, things were different. Angel was not only now managed by

La' Entertainment, she married it's owner Latif Mercado, adding that extra layer of security to her reviving career. and this is Angel's Truth.

In 1992, Thrill da Playa and Fast Cash teamed up to form 69 Boyz, the group.

1994–1996: 199Quad and Sunset Park

The group had success in the summer of 1994 with its first single, "Tootsee Roll", from their debut album, 199Quad. The song went platinum and reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 9 on the R&B chart. The second single, "Kitty Kitty", peaked at number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band was nominated for three Soul Train Music Awards in 1995. we are droppin the BOOM! with the 69 Boyz.

The interview with Freestyle legend K7 from the group TKA was a nostalgic experience. K7, whose real name is Louis Sharpe, shared his journey from being a part of the game-changing group TKA to his current solo projects.

During the interview, K7 talked about the early days of Freestyle culture in the 80s and how TKA started as a dance crew before becoming a singing sensation. He also discussed the challenges they faced as a group trying to break into the mainstream music industry, especially as Latino artists.

K7 shared stories about the making of their hit songs like "Maria" and "Come Baby Come", and how their music blended different genres to create a unique sound that became globally recognized. He also discussed the impact of Freestyle music on popular culture and its enduring legacy.

We had a chance to catch up with DC from the legendary group Tag Team, who have recently made a big impact with the fun Auto Insurance Commercial for Geico, TAG TEAM is back on TOP. Bursting onto the scene with their TOP OF THE POPS hit and automatically became one of those songs that stick in your head. “Whoomp!
