For the final episode of the 2023/24 season, Ashley spoke with the VSO’s current board chairperson, Carol Van Natta. With more than 40 years’ experience as a fundraising professional, she has served on boards with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Nonprofit Network of Southwest Washington, and others. She was executive director of the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation from 2013 to 2019, and has been a dedicated champion of the VSO for years. They spoke about the importance of art for the community, the future of the VSO, and more.

This month, Ashley interviewed our three amazing 2023 Young Artist Competition gold medalists, who will be performing their winning selections with the orchestra at our January 2024 concert. Xinran Shi, Esme Arias-Kim and Diego Chapela-Perez competed last October and won gold after being selected out of dozens of hopefuls from all across the nation for the pool of nine finalists.
