First up is Osceola, where on September 23, 1861 US Senator and murderer James Lang lead his Jayhawker mob in destroying the 3rd largest city in Missouri plundering, murdering and torching Osceola Missouri to the ground. This wasn’t the first town Lane and his band plundered but it was the most devastating. As Lane and his drunken men left the city 17 lay dead with 9 summarily executed after a Drumhead Trial.
