Вона розповідає про дитячі спогади своєї бабусі у Львівському області під час Другої світової війни, а також про переселення та репресії, яких зазнали її родина й громада під владою радянських сил. Читаючи мемуари своєї бабусі, Анна розмірковує про трагічні наслідки війни, що вплинули на українців як у минулому, так і сьогодні. Водночас вона також розмірковує про силу та готовність українців підтримувати один одного під час всяких труднощів. Саме це допомагає їм зберегти почуття єдності.
