Grace City South

Grace City South is a Christian church based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Everything we do begins and ends with Jesus, because apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). We're one church, with two locations.

We're about three things: Gospel, family and mission. The Gospel is the greatest news--that Jesus, our Savior and God, sacrificed Himself to pay for our sins so we would be forgiven through faith in Him. As a family we look after one another as we are commanded. Our mission is to obey Jesus' great commission by being a "sending church". We want God's will to be done by making discples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We hope to bless everyone that our church comes in contact with. When the early church started as recorded in the Bible’s book of Acts, they were a blessing to the cities that they were a part of (Acts 8:8). We want everyone to know that if you do not yet believe in Him, we hope you will be blessed by this church regardless.

Divisions in the Church | Grace City South

In this powerful message from 1 Corinthians 1:10-17, we explore “The Death of Division” and the urgent call for gospel-centered unity within the church. Drawing from both Scripture and personal experience, this sermon unpacks how pride, fear, tribalism, and misplaced identity fracture Christian community and distract the church from its mission. Through Paul’s appeal to the divided Corinthian church, we are reminded that true unity is not found in personalities, preferences, or camps, but in Christ crucified alone.

Intro to 1 Corinthians | Grace City South

Dive into the powerful opening message of our new series in 1 Corinthians as we explore how God’s grace meets us right in the middle of our mess. In this episode, we unpack the cultural parallels between ancient Corinth and modern-day Calgary, revealing how the environments we live in shape our values, desires, and identity—often more than we realize. Through Paul’s introduction, we’re reminded that the gospel isn’t about having it all together, but about being transformed by Jesus from the inside out.

Habakkuk 3 | Grace City South

Discover a powerful message as we explore Habakkuk 3 and the question: how do we gain peace that outlasts pain? Through the remarkable story of missionary Allen Gardiner, who praised God while dying of starvation, and the testimony of Habakkuk, who moved from questioning God to worshiping Him in suffering, this sermon reminds us that true peace is found by remembering who God is and what He has done. When life feels unfair, confusing, or overwhelming, we are invited not to walk away from God, but to bring our questions to Him, trust His character, and worship through the storm.

Habakkuk 2:5-20 | Grace City South

In this powerful message from Habakkuk 2, Pastor Jeremiah continues our series in Habakkuk by exploring God’s five woes against Babylon; warnings that expose the false hopes people build their lives upon: wealth, security, power, pleasure, and idolatry. Far from being only an ancient judgment, this passage reveals the same struggles still present in every human heart today. Through Habakkuk, we are reminded that greed never satisfies, power corrupts, idols cannot save, and anything we trust more than God will ultimately fail us. Yet in the middle of judgment comes incredible hope: the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, revealed most fully in Jesus Christ.

Resurrection Sunday 2026 | Grace City South

Celebrate Resurrection Sunday with Grace City Church as Pastor Jeremiah explores the staggering claim at the center of Christianity: Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. In this powerful Easter message, we examine three life-changing questions: Does the resurrection really matter? Did it actually happen? And if it did, what does it mean for us today? Through biblical truth, historical evidence, and practical hope, this sermon shows how the empty tomb changes everything: our guilt can be forgiven, death no longer has the final word, suffering is not meaningless, and Jesus is alive right now, still saving and transforming lives.

In this powerful message, Pastor Jeremiah encourages the church to embrace a deeper, more instinctive life of prayer, highlighting the importance of shared dependence on God within a community. Reflecting on a recent retreat, he challenges the church to move beyond individualism and to pray together—whether in moments of suffering, joy, or sickness. Jeremiah emphasizes that the gospel frees us from the burden of carrying our struggles alone and invites us into a supportive, prayerful community.

The Righteous Shall Live by His Faith | Grace City South

In this message from Grace City Church, Pastor Jeremiah walks through Habakkuk 2 to explore what it truly means to wait on the Lord in seasons of uncertainty, confusion, and delay. Using a personal story about his son’s determination to meet Calgary Flames goalie Dustin Wolf, he illustrates how patience, hope, and faith come together in the waiting. The sermon highlights three key ways to wait well: waiting patiently by trusting God’s timing, waiting watchfully by staying spiritually engaged and grounded in truth, and waiting faithfully by placing our trust not in outcomes but in God’s character.

Habakkuk 1:1-17 | Grace City South

In this message from Grace City Church, we dive into the powerful and often overlooked book of Habakkuk, exploring how to faithfully wrestle with God in seasons of confusion, doubt, and pain. Through humor, personal stories, and biblical insight, this sermon unpacks three essential principles for questioning God while remaining anchored in faith: be honest, be humble, and view everything through the lens of the gospel. As Habakkuk boldly brings his complaints before God, we’re reminded that questioning isn’t a sign of weak faith, it’s an invitation into deeper relationship.

Intro to Habakkuk | Grace City South

In this opening message of a new series on the book of Habakkuk, Pastor Jeremiah introduces a powerful and timely exploration of what it means to live by faith in a fractured and confusing world. Setting the stage with historical context and the central theme, “the righteous shall live by faith," this overview unpacks how Habakkuk wrestles honestly with injustice, unanswered prayers, and God’s unexpected ways. Rather than offering easy answers, the book invites believers to bring hard questions to God, wait on Him with trust, and discover a deeper, resilient faith that leads to enduring joy.
