John Ryan is most likely not a former pro athlete you’ve ever heard of, but a serious everyday athlete well worth getting to know. He was a two sport standout (soccer & lacrosse) D1 Athlete at Army, before serving and receiving a bronze star. His brief stint as a professional athlete was with the Long Island Lizards of the Major League Lacrosse (now the PLL). That pro experience may be behind him, but he continues to play competitive lacrosse, even serving as team captain for Irelands National Team at the World Lacrosse Championships, while also training for ultra running events.

Despite taking on more responsibility with a growing family and a business career taking off, John's found a unique way to balance it all, while still satisfying his competitive spirit and pushing his physical limits. In this episode, he reflects on his time in the military and provides insights into his approach to prioritizing an active lifestyle without limiting himself at work or at home.

The Everyday Athlete is produced by Athleticus.

Interested in ATHLETICUS? Check out www.athleticus.io or visit us on Instagram ( @athleticusapp ) to view more about the app we're developing and behind the scenes of the podcast.

For more on John, you can find him on Strava (or our app when released).
