Samoana Matagi is a burn survivor of 13 years. Before his burn accident he studied broadcast journalism at Utah State University. He was nominated outstanding senior in. broadcast journalism. Sam, short for Samoana, graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Portuguese. He then worked a couple years at the local news stations as a video editor. The year 2007 brought a change in career for Sam as he was accepted into the Mountain States Line Construction Apprenticeship Training program. Three years and after nearly finishing his apprenticeship, Sam suffered fourth degree burns from 14,400 volts of electricity which eventually lead to the loss of his hands. After that traumatic injury he reinvented himself yet again. He became a YouTuber sharing his techniques for using his prosthetic hands. This lead to an expansion of his resume to include public speaker. His story is one of resilience and the ability to adapt to change.

Rachel Daigh is an award winning actress, writer, and producer. She worked as an EMT and Cadet with Phoenix Fire Department before attending San Diego State University where she studied Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology. At just eight years old, Rachel began writing screenplays, short stories, children's books, and poetry. After a few years working in Archaeology, Rachel made the decision to pursue her dream of writing, acting, and producing professionally and was quickly cast in a number of projects. Since her transition to Hollywood, Rachel has won multiple awards for producing, writing, and acting. Her first production "Victims" quickly became a festival favorite sweeping awards in categories such as Best Original Story, Best Drama, Best Actress, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best First Time Director. She's led films with Hollywood elite such as Game of Thrones James Cosmo and supported Academy Award and Emmy Award winners such as Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, and Rob Lowe. Passionate about projects that reflect culture around the world, Rachel strives to tell stories that showcase the diversity and beauty of real life.

Rachel continues to remain active in Archaeology and Cultural Resource Management. With a deep love for the ocean, Rachel is a SCUBA Diver with Divemaster certification and an advocate for marine conservation and animal rights. As a third generation firefighter, Ron realized early on that his destiny was to serve. After serving 15 years in the military, including as a fire chief on 3 different continents - Ron retired only to go on training Military and First Responders. Ron now serves as a Chaplain through a unique Military Outreach Ministry; his wife’s 501 (c)(3) - Warfighter Ranch. This organization exists to help heal the invisible wounds of the heart, mind, and soul through Jesus Christ! A unique Military Artist, Ron uses parachute cord to reach out to over 20,000 Warfighters individually over the last 13 years. Ron believes each and every piece is "a sermon for one". Cherrie Boston was born in Houston, Texas. After graduating with honors from Douglas MacArthur High School, she attended Ouachita Baptist University, in Arkadelphia Arkansas. There she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. From a very early age Cherrie was involved in Music Ministry and evangelism. She also earned a certification in biblical counseling. After a few years of becoming a Single Mom, she attended graduate school at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Houston, Texas, while serving in various leadership ministries of teaching and leading worship. For over two decades she worked in film and advertising through the genres of radio, magazine and television commercials. For fourteen of those years there were the many challenges of raising her two daughters as a single mom, but she knew her foundation was grounded in the word of God. In 2015 , another challenge and joy was birthed as she became the advocate for her special needs sister after the passing of both parents.

Laine's short film I Wanted To Be gives the audience a look at the hearts of the Homeless. The film won numerous awards in several competitions. Laine's short film The Art of Now opens the discussion about how childhood trauma is carried into adulthood. It was awarded first place at the ENT Center of the Arts (2019) and was selected for the Colorado Short Circuit Film Festival. Laine’s artwork has been shown in the Capitol of Colorado and the Denver Art Museum. She has been awarded numerous scholarships. Laine's goals are to expand her experience in film production, painting oils, and give back to the visual art community. Currently Laine is working with the team at Capernaum striving to share God's message through visual art. She is looking forward to being on the set of the next Capernaum production. She is founder and CEO of Perfectly U which is a Ministry that helps busy moms be all that they can be mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially. Karen has also started the Teacher Burnout Is Real! movement, which is a support system for teachers. She hosts a weekly Teacher Burnout Is Real podcast on Spotify, where she shares tips and resources as well. Karen has worked extensively in churches throughout the years. She is currently a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri. She serves as chairperson of the Naomi/Ruth circle of the Woman's Missionary Union at Friendship, and leads the Shine children's ministry for elementary school-aged children. Karen is the wife of Reverend James Perkins and mother of Audrey. In her spare time she likes to do word puzzles, logic puzzles and Sudoku number puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Above everything listed previously Karen's proudest title is God's beloved daughter. She enjoys using her gifts and talents to glorify her father and bring others into the kingdom.

Angela found her passion for acting at the age of nine when she attended a community theatre audition with a neighbor, and accidentally landed the role of Lucy in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. When she was 20, she hired private acting coach, Karen LaVoie, and was later accepted into The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she was picked up by the Cosden Morgan Agency, decided not to attend AADA and began auditioning. Angela’s resume includes extra work and small roles in television/ film productions including Warner Brothers Cradle to the Grave, Paramount Pictures The Hunted, HBO’s Live from Baghdad, ABC’s The Practice, and Idiot Boyfriend starring Jimmy Fallon. Angela co-starred in two Independent films, Dream Girl and The Inglewood Project. She was also featured in NBC’s Dog Eat Dog and The John Walsh Project.

She left Los Angeles in 2002 after meeting Shawn Sweet, the love of her life, in North Carolina. Her professional focus shifted from acting to personal training and print modeling for companies such as IBM, Ashley Furniture and Oxygen fitness magazine. She founded “The Fitness Studio” franchise in 2007 with the heart to teach godly physical stewardship. The company was blessed, expanding to three locations. It was sold in 2012 when the Sweet family relocated to Texas. Shawn and Angela Sweet have two children and currently own/operate Sweet Financial Group, LP together.

Angela’s heart is to honor God using whatever avenue of ministry He provides, including acting. She is grateful to invest in Stronger and confident that God will reveal truth, comfort hearts, and restore hope through this film.

I was born in Cuba in 1963, my family migrated to Spain escaping communism in 1974, and we eventually moved to the US in 1977 where we settled in Houston and have considered Texas our home ever since. I attended the University of Houston where God introduced me to my wife Maria 33 years ago and gave us three boys to raise, and a daughter through adoption later in life. I can't remember a family event that didn't involve food, or start with prayer. It was always amazing how my mother was buried in the kitchen the entire time we had guests and managed to feed huge groups with some incredible dishes. I picked up on that knack for cooking and entertaining family and friends, and these days we love sitting around the table eating, sharing, and laughing. I personally enjoy after dinner the most, where conversations over dessert and coffee can take you in very unexpected directions. I started in the restaurant business back in 1979, while I was in High School, as a dishwasher at a Marriott cafeteria inside a Texas Instruments. After that, I got a job as a waiter at the first Pappasito’s in Houston at the corner of Richmond and Hillcroft. From the Pappa’s family I got the bug for the business, and I never looked back. I was fortunate to also learn from some of the best restauranteurs in Houston, working for Mama’s Café, Carrabba’s, and The Palm. In 2006 I created my own restaurant concept called Eden Café. The menu reflects where I’ve been in my career, so it showcases what I know…Tex-Mex, Italian, seafood, steaks, Southwest, and American comfort food. Over the years, I have been fortunate to add some very talented staff to my kitchen team, so the menu has evolved with their ideas and creativity. We are also fortunate to be in an area that continues to grow, as we meet new customers everyday who have recently moved to the area. While I carry hospitality in my veins and love what I do, I also have another passion for telling stories and the art of performance. Early 2 / 2 on during my college years, I participated in several live stage productions, some with lead roles, and found out how much I enjoyed that. After a break of a few years focusing on my restaurant career, I went back to pursue more acting work, and ended up switching to film. But I realized what I really wanted to do was used my gifts to glorify God and help people heal from trauma and pain, as well as point them in God’s direction, so I’ve been blessed to work in faith-based films and TV series that do just that. I see both careers as forms of serving, whether I’m cooking or acting, but I also know God is not finished with me yet

She taught in the Harlandale School District for seven years and then taught in the Northeast Independent School District until 1990. After working as a paralegal for a year, Sue attended St. Mary’s School of Law, and practiced law until 2007. She worked in the legal field with TBSS Co-Founder David Jayne. My name is Sharlene Wilkins Walushka, from Hellertown Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Wellsboro Pennsylvania. I was one of 11 children and raised by a single parent, my mother. It was a very hard and dysfunctional home environment that I lived in.

I didn’t like to listen so I became a mother at the age of 15. I have always felt my son was given to me by God to change my life around. I vowed his life would never resemble mine.

I have two children and four grandchildren who are my everything,and we have so much fun together!!

I love people helping them encouraging them. I have always had a ton of compassion for others and empathy also.I love to laugh dance ride my bike walk seeing in via round horses I like putting puzzles together I find serenity peace and joy,,just being alone.

I am a Christian who loves the Lord with all my heart. He took mercy on me saved me and gave me another chance at life,,, led me to the person I spent my whole life looking for, but was running from.. “ME”!!!

What a beautiful love he has for me one I could never find with, or amongst any human being!!! Nope, I searched all my life to fill that empty void inside my heart. It was never anything external that could fill that void.,no this had to be looked at internally,,And I needed to really want to look and see and face what needed to be face and fix what needed fixing.

It’s has been a lifetime job and I am not done fixing. However I have the help of the Lord andI know I can do all things through him. I can do all things with him and I can do nothing without him, nor do I want to…

God is my superstar, my hero, my everything. He saved me for something only he could have orchestrated. God is so good and I am so blessed and the joy and the happiness that comes with the internal fixing,that can only be done by the blood of Jesus Christ!! AMEN!!

Her purpose and passion is to develop extraordinary leaders committed to making a real difference in the world, and together, leading the way to racial unity in the face of no agreement.

Her dedication to raising and homeschooling 7 children was only the beginning of many accomplishments. She utilized her managerial skills as a homeschool mom of 20 years in several entrepreneurial endeavors. In 2006, she launched a mobile spa business, and soon thereafter, earned lucrative awards for exceeding sales goals. Ultimate Spa, LLC became a stepping stone to launching Breaking Barriers, LLC, in which she facilitated interactive seminars to help others break through barriers to the manifestation of their dreams.

Deirdra currently resides in the Kansas City metropolitan area. She obtained a degree in Applied Organizational Leadership, as well as a life coach certification. She’s now on a mission to touch, move, and inspire others to action through her story of trial and triumph.

Dennis J. Gardin sustained extensive burn injuries in a horrific gasoline explosion as a child, resulting in prolonged hospitalization, dozens of surgeries and years of rehabilitation. Intense physical and emotional pain, as well as profound disfigurement, caused him to hide away in self-imposed isolation for 2 years, allowing his dreams to die & hopes to fade. But with the steadfast love & support of family/friends, he began to focus on the purpose for his life, as he came to understand that real strength is seeking support when needed and true courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to move forward despite the obstacles.

Dennis has grown along his journey of self-discovery to become an international speaker & facilitator, successful businessman, ministrant, former television talk show host & radio personality, and consultant working with a variety of organizations, in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. He currently serves in the capacity of Executive Director for the *GEORGIA FIREFIGHTERS BURN FOUNDATION, which he considers a true “labor of love”, having the privilege of working in support of individuals, families & communities impacted by the devastation of burn injury & trauma. Since an early age, the Rev. Lataya Simpson defined ministry as serving God by serving others. For nearly 30 years she has been blessed with the various opportunities to live out this paradigm in diverse settings. From the age of 15, Lataya began leading a small group in her High School teaching Bible Study every week for 3 years. During college, she was hungry for ways to get involved in ministry and combined her passion for ministry and academic studies in broadcast journalism to volunteer in ministry media at her church. After graduating with a BA in Broadcast Journalism and a short lived career in journalism, Lataya decided she wanted to do something other than report bad news. She wanted to serve and lead in her community.

In 2006 she founded Christian Networking Group, a diverse organization which connected thousands of people to help in bridging the gap between faith and business. Lataya accepted her call to pastoral ministry in 2011. She was blessed to find a mentor in her own home, following in her husband’s footsteps to become an Ordained Elder in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church. She and he attended SMU Perkins School of Theology, earning the Master of Divinity degrees consecutively; he in 2017, she in 2018. Her first appointment as a pastor came in 2016 while still in seminary. From there she spent a year as a hospital Chaplain and for the past 3 years has been serving as the Associate Pastor of Bellaire UMC, located in the city of Bellaire.

In addition to being a servant leader, Lataya is a first a wife, mother and friend. “Faith and family are my top two priorities, but I’m blessed that my calling enables me to enrich both of these.” She and her husband Rev. Johnnie, are parents of three amazing children: Johnnie III, Elle and Layla. Her husband lives out his calling as both pastor and community leader.

Lataya has a passion for personal development and social/emotional wellness as well as racial, cultural and cognitive diversity. Her first book, More Than Pretty: 7 Beauty Secrets That Could Change Your Life, which focused on personal development, was self-published in 2014. She has written several children’s books on these topics and hopes to publish many more in the future.

Burned 70% at the age of 7, Debbie has 62 years as a burn survivor and has conducted her life to helping other survivors through their struggles with recovery.

Through her own struggles she has a strong connection with her God and credits him with her abilities to be an ear, a shoulder to cry on or just to listen as others relate their stories to her.

Debbie is strong in the burn community in Nova Scotia Canada as Head of the Nova Scotia Burn Support Group, Secretary/Treasurer for the Canadian Burn Survivor Community, an affiliate member of Canada Skin as well as Global skin.

Debbie credits her strong faith in God for her strength and endurance while going through health issues of her own.
