David Hercenberg is a digital media and marketing specialist with a focus on photography and videography. While a Dean’s List student at Towson University, David produced an award-winning documentary film in Poland and Berlin documenting the atrocities of WWII.

After graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Electronic Media and Film, he created Documented Video Productions. Over a decade later, he has produced hundreds of videos and websites for nonprofits, camps, schools, families and various businesses across America.

David resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two children. David has had to shift his business slightly due to in person events being postponed or canceled. Pivoting to live streaming and collaborating with other organizations for editing needs have been a great way to stay busy during these interesting times.
There is a never-ending list of things to do for work but balancing it with family priorities and making sure everyone is okay on the home front allows me to focus on work with a clear mind.

Radio DJ, Comedian, Actor Roman Guzman has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. In the Modesto/Stockton area he can be heard every morning on The River 105.5 and can also be seen in the recent phycological thriller Agent 11. Michael’s love of photography started in high school when he realized he could get out of class early to shoot sporting events for the student newspaper!

After graduating from the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, he decided he wanted to be his own boss and soon opened a photo studio in Bethesda, Maryland. Boom! It was an immediate success and is still going strong today, more than 30 years later.

Michael is funny, passionate about his craft and calm, which comes in handy when families start freaking out at weddings and mitzvahs! Not surprisingly, this talented pro has won many awards during his career, including several for "best photographer" from the International Special Event Society.

Besides photography, Michael’s passions include cheering on the Washington Football Team (Redskins), skiing the beautiful mountains out west and anything involving the water!

In my late teens, my love for event planning was sparked when I assisted as support staff at neighborhood parties and it then began to evolve when I joined the prom committee at my high school (Pennsbury High which is consistently the school on the internet known as, “The Best Prom in America”; it in fact has a book written about it). Then in College, I was a regular volunteer planning University of Maryland events and planning events for; “Elegant”; the organization which I was The President of in my College Department.

I loved events so much that during college I also interned/worked for The Lerner Corporation at Landover Mall for years. We planned and executed events such as Desert Storm memorials, Easter bunny/Santa visits, fashion shows and more for the purpose of getting more customers to shop and visit the mall. After College I joined the New York City Bloomingdale’s management team and interned for The Rouse Corporation at The Harborplace in Baltimore, MD exclusively planning and running events for National Harbor.

Albums to Outsourcing with Mark Zucker

In 1995 Mark Zucker (Not Mark Zuckerberg 😊) launched www.zookbinders.com which became the leading high-end wedding album manufacturer in the US. During the “peak” just before digital technology disrupted the photography industry, Zookbinders had 100+ employees and operated in a state-of-the-art production facility in Chicago.

After 13 years of strong growth, sales flattened in 2008. This was the result of:

Influx of “Shoot & Burn” photographers that were mostly part-time and didn’t offer albums.

Online Photo Retailers like Shutterfly offering “Photo Books” for under $20, thus devaluing the professional album
The Financial Crisis

2009 brought decreased industry demand for albums and declining prices, while the cost of doing business kept increasing 2-4% annually. Their solution: Outsourcing office labor to the Philippines. Zookbinders had just introduced a Wedding Album Design Service and hired 5 Graphic Designers which cost 42K “all-in”. Mark’s CEO, Cherry Orlina was born and raised in the Philippines and suggested to hire a new team of Graphic Designers in the Philippines for 18K “all-in”, saving the company 120K annually.

From 2011 – 2016, Zookbinders moved IT, Accounting, Marketing & Customer Service functions overseas, further reducing cost and remaining viable in an industry where 1-2 competitors closed each year.

By 2017, Zookbinders had a head count of 20+ in the Philippines prompting Mark and Cherry to start their own outsourcing company: www.mcvotalent.com The company supports many Professional Photography companies (with full time Photo and Video Editors), and many other businesses that need to reduce cost to stay viable.

For wedding vendors have who have severely impacted by Covid, it’s critical to plan now to reduce “fixed” expenses (i.e. back-office labor) as we prepare for resurgence in 2021. Companies need to operate leaner and more profitably to rebuild cash reserves and outsourcing is a proven model. The most common positions outsourced are:

Accounting (Bookkeeping, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable)

Customer Service (Help desk, Phone Support, Tele-marketing, Virtual Assistants)
Marketing (Digital Marketing, SEO, Social Media, Website Content Creation etc.)

Mark: “some people think of Outsourcing as ‘taking American jobs’. We look at it differently. By reducing some jobs (and a lot of cost), offshoring can help companies stay viable, thus ensuring jobs for all other employees”
