Jadakiss & Shammgod on the WNBA Boom, Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, A’ja Wilson & NIL

podcastmarketing@mycodemedia.com (Jadakiss, God Shammgod) — Wed, 19 Aug 2026 04:00:00 +0000

Jadakiss and God Shammgod link up for a deep dive into NBA Summer League, New York Knicks basketball, mental health in the league, and the connection between hip-hop and hoops. In this episode of “Check It Up,” Sham breaks down his first head coaching role with the New Orleans Pelicans’ Summer League squad and the new one-shot free throw rule that’s changing pace and scoring. They talk about how high lottery picks should really be evaluated, why one bad week in Vegas doesn’t make a bust, and how Jalen Brunson and other small guards are redefining the modern, positionless NBA. The conversation goes from basketball to real life: Jadakiss and Sham speak on mental health for rookies, trauma from growing up in the hood, and why the NBA should mandate mental health support the same way it provides financial advisers and dress-code guidance. They shout out veteran leaders around the league—Brunson, Tobias Harris, Harrison Barnes, DeAndre Jordan, the Marcus twins—and explain why vets are the glue guys fans rarely see but teams can’t live without. From New Orleans to New York, the episode taps heavy into culture. Sham talks about being embraced by New Orleans and Essence Fest, while Jada recaps a historic three-night run at Yankee Stadium, life on the road with Bad Boy and Ruff Ryders/Cash Money, and what it meant to have NBA stars in the crowd. They connect the dots between Yonkers studios, Mary J. Blige, Fab, Zion/Tatum/Brown at Adidas Nations, and how New York has always produced both hoopers and rappers at the highest level. The show closes with pure Knicks talk: Jalen Brunson’s impact, small-guard legacy, and Jada’s all-time top five Knicks, plus a real conversation about Carmelo Anthony—Denver vs. New York jerseys, what Melo did for the city, and why he’s a people’s champ regardless of banners. If you’re a Knicks fan, a hoop head, or a hip-hop listener, this episode is built for you. Jadakiss & God Shammgod Talk Jalen Brunson, Knicks Chip & Summer League Secrets

The ’96 Draft That Changed Everything

podcastmarketing@mycodemedia.com (Jadakiss, God Shammgod) — Wed, 1 Jul 2026 04:00:00 +0000

Kiss and Shamm open by debating the greatest rookie class in NBA history — landing on the '96 draft as a cultural turning point that merged hip-hop and basketball in a way the league had never seen before. From Iverson's impact to Marbury's New York legacy, the conversation is a love letter to their era. God Shammgod pulls back the curtain on playoff scouting — explaining how strategy shifts from series to series, why leaving Caruso open was a deliberate scheme to neutralize Shai, and how his time in Dallas under defensive coordinator Sean Sweeney directly connects to what's happening in the current Finals. The analytics debate gets heated. Kiss challenges the idea of 'winning analytically' while losing on the scoreboard, and Sham breaks down why mid-range basketball isn't just valid — it's the foundation of every great scorer in history, from Jordan to Kawhi to Jalen Brunson.

The episode takes a personal turn as Kiss opens up about his basketball upbringing in Yonkers, the influence of Coach Rob Morton and the Westside Cobras, and the moment in sixth grade his father helped him choose basketball over other sports — before he eventually made a left turn from the gym to the studio. Sham and Kiss then go in on the AAU circuit: how money, politics, and misplaced priorities have corrupted what was once a pure grassroots system. They share their own bootstrap experiences — raising funds with cans in front of the shop — and contrast that with today's NIL-fueled culture that's producing transfers, inflated egos, and kids without fallback plans. The GPS metaphor closes the episode powerfully: life doesn't tell you you're wrong, it just reroutes you.

Whether it's Jalen Brunson going in the second round or Sham choosing coaching over celebrity training, the destination is what matters — and the struggle is what gets you there. Kiss and Sham also touch on mental health in professional sports, arguing that preparation needs to happen before the money arrives, not after a crisis. And they emphasize the importance of growing together — making your best friend the accountant, not leaving people behind.

New York vs. The World: Knicks in the Finals, Position Basketball & Two Kids from the Hood Enter the Tech Game

podcastmarketing@mycodemedia.com (My Code Media) — Wed, 17 Jun 2026 04:00:00 +0000

There's no podcast quite like this one. Jadakiss — one of hip-hop's greatest lyricists and a die-hard New York Knicks fan — and God Shammgod — NBA legend, current assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans, and one of the most respected basketball minds in the game — have been talking hoops in private for years. Now, thanks to Fanmire and My Code, they're finally doing it in public.

In this debut episode of Check It Up Podcast, Kiss and Sham bring all the energy of two guys who grew up together in New York City, bonded over basketball and culture, and never stopped pushing. With the Knicks in the NBA Finals for the first time in decades, they dig into what this moment means for the city — from Madison Square Garden's unmatched playoff atmosphere to the economic and cultural ripple effects a championship would bring to every corner of New York.

They go deep on the X's and O's: Jalen Brunson's steady leadership and underdog rise, Karl-Anthony Towns' transformation into a true big-man role, the Knicks' return to position basketball in a positionless era, and why Wembanyama and the Spurs didn't have an answer for New York's physicality. Shammgod shares his personal connection to both sides of the Finals matchup — having coached JB in Dallas and working alongside Spurs assistant Sean Sweeney — offering a rare behind-the-curtain perspective few can provide.

Beyond basketball, Kiss and Sham reflect on what it means to come from the hood, be labeled an underdog, and keep pushing anyway — drawing parallels between their own journeys and Brunson's path from a second-round draft pick to the best point guard in the league. And they drop a tease that has nothing to do with rap or basketball: two New York legends are entering the tech world, and they say it's going to blow people's minds.

This is just the beginning. Subscribe and don't miss what's coming.
