R. Renee Hess is the Founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Hockey Club. Hess discusses her first hockey game, the genesis of the Club, the transition to a non-profit organization and the impact of the Get Uncomfortable campaign. Hess shares her feelings on anti-racism efforts in hockey and fondly recounts her visit to Raleigh and PNC Arena in Feb. 2020.

Black Girl Hockey Club was founded by R. Renee Hess in 2018 to create a community space for Black women in hockey.
