Two Types of People with Pat Sitkins

Hosted by bestselling author and serial entrepreneur Pat Sitkins, Two Types of People explores the mindsets, moments, and mechanics behind extraordinary lives. In each episode, high-performers across industries answer the deceptively simple question: What are the two types of people in this world?
Their answers unlock powerful stories—about grit, growth, loss, purpose, and the patterns that shape our identity. TToP is part framework, part philosophy, and fully human. It’s not about right or wrong—it’s about how you see the world, and what that reveals about you.
From athletes and artists to CEOs and creators, these conversations challenge you to reflect, remember, and maybe even rewire how you move through life.

Inside the New Era of LSU Athletics | Verge Ausberry

Verge Ausberry has spent virtually his entire adult life at LSU.

He arrived in Baton Rouge as a linebacker in 1985, became a three-year starter, won two SEC championships and eventually returned to the university to begin a career that has taken him through nearly every level of LSU Athletics. Today, he's the Vice President / Director of Athletics. And he's helping lead LSU into one of the most interesting periods in the school's athletic history. Ausberry led the coaching search that brought Lane Kiffin to Baton Rouge and brought Will Wade back to lead LSU men's basketball. Years earlier, he was also instrumental in the search that landed Jay Johnson, who has since won two national championships at LSU.

But Verge's story isn't just about coaching searches and the SEC. It's about what he's learned watching winning organizations operate from almost every possible seat. He talks with host Pat Sitkins about working alongside leaders like Skip Bertman and Nick Saban, navigating 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina from inside an athletic department, and watching college athletics transform through NIL, revenue sharing and the rapidly changing economics of the sport.

Through all of it, one idea keeps coming back: Alignment.

Great talent isn't enough. Verge talks about why LSU isn't for everybody, why the right fit matters as much as the résumé and why everyone from the athletic director to the coaches to the athletes has to understand what those three letters on the uniform represent. That philosophy extends beyond the field. While much of college athletics initially resisted NIL and revenue sharing, Verge explains why LSU chose to embrace the change. Instead of protecting the old model, the university began asking how it could use its enormous platform to build athletes' individual brands alongside LSU's own.

His attitude toward change is simple: yesterday's problem is already yesterday.

What's next?

It's a philosophy that has become particularly relevant as Ausberry takes over the department. In a matter of months, LSU has made enormous decisions about football and basketball while continuing to invest in championship programs across the university. But some of the best moments in the conversation have nothing to do with wins. Verge talks about opening Tiger Stadium to families visiting campus, helping a grieving fan hold onto the seven Saturdays a year that still gave him connection, and why the people working inside college athletics sometimes forget what sports actually mean to the people watching them. He also talks candidly about his own evolution.

The former middle linebacker still describes himself as aggressive. He wants to compete. He wants to win. But decades of leadership have also taught him the importance of compassion, family, empathy and taking care of the people around him. That's where his answer to Two Types of People ultimately lands.

Aggression and compassion.

Two sides of the same leader. And at a moment when LSU Athletics is once again changing quickly, Verge Ausberry is sitting in the chair responsible for helping determine what comes next.

More Than One Play | Brandon Bostick on Failure, Identity & Starting Again

Brandon Bostick knows what it's like to have millions of people associate your name with one moment.

An undrafted player out of Division II Newberry College, Brandon earned his way into the NFL and spent five seasons in the league, including three with the Green Bay Packers. The 2014 NFC Championship Game in Seattle and an onside kick that changed the trajectory of his life. Most people know that part. This conversation is about everything that followed.

Brandon takes us inside the moment itself, including something rarely discussed when we watch professional sports: what it actually feels like to make a mistake on one of the biggest stages in the world and then have to stand in front of reporters and answer for it minutes later. He also talks candidly about what came afterward. Brandon continued playing football, but underneath it was depression, anxiety and an identity increasingly tied to what had happened. Years later, when life finally became quiet enough for him to confront it, he sought healing and began rebuilding himself. That process eventually led him somewhere unexpected: back to football.

Today, Brandon is coaching at the University of Minnesota, working with young athletes from a perspective he didn't have when he was one of them. He talks about breathing, mindset, therapy, communication, spirituality and developing the entire person rather than simply building a better football player. We also get into the strange relationship high performers can have with accomplishment. Brandon went from an undrafted Division II player to a five-year NFL career, yet says he rarely stopped long enough to realize he had actually achieved the dream he'd carried since childhood.

His Two Types of People? Talkers and Doers.

People who talk about what they're going to do, and people who do the things they talk about. Maybe there is no better example than Brandon himself. The kid who had to write a letter asking for an opportunity to attend college eventually made the NFL. The player whose football identity was shattered eventually returned to the game as a coach. And the man once known by millions for one mistake now gets to use everything that followed it to help prepare the next generation.

We talk about:

Going undrafted and learning how to become an NFL player

The mentors who appeared at different stages of Brandon's life

Driving from Green Bay to Chicago during training camp to see Eric Thomas

Competition versus camaraderie inside an NFL locker room

What really happened during the NFC Championship Game in Seattle

Facing the media immediately afterward

Carrying the emotional weight of the play for years

Depression, anxiety and finally asking for help

Separating identity from the uniform

Returning to college to finish his degree

Starting over as a volunteer coach

His path to the University of Minnesota

Why today's Brandon trains his mind as intentionally as he once trained his body

Teaching players breathing and self-talk during practice

Why he asks his athletes, "What are you going to get better at today?"

His Two Types: Talkers and Doers

The spiritual necklace that keeps him grounded

Why "Free Mind" by Tems is now his walk-up song

This is not an episode about forgetting what happened. It's about discovering how much life can exist on the other side of it.

Bitter or Better? Rachel Joy Baribeau on Turning Pain into Purpose

Rachel Joy Baribeau spent 17 years breaking barriers in sports media, becoming one of the first female hosts on SiriusXM College Sports, one of the few women to vote for the Heisman Trophy, and the only known female sportscaster to complete a professional football training camp. She eventually walked away from that career to launch I'm Changing the Narrative, a movement focused on mental health, purpose, and helping people find hope in life's hardest moments.

Then life changed. She lost both of her parents. She lost her home. She went bankrupt during COVID after an entire year of speaking engagements disappeared in just weeks.

Instead of letting those experiences define her, she asked a different question. Will this make me bitter... or better? That answer became her Two Types of People.

Along the way, we explore some of the most personal and practical ideas we've discussed on the show:

Why pain can become purpose if you're willing to let it.

The difference between surviving and truly healing.

Rachel's concept of the "Messy Middle" and why so many of us are living there right now.

The danger of isolation and why community matters.

The mirror exercise that has transformed athletes, executives, and teams across the country.

Why hustle culture eventually gave way to what Rachel calls a softer, more peaceful life.

How bitterness quietly grows, and how gratitude interrupts it.

The story behind I'm Changing the Narrative, now impacting athletes, schools, prisons, corporations, and communities nationwide.

This episode is full of hope. Not because life gets easier. Because Rachel reminds us that our hardest seasons don't have to become our permanent identity. Sometimes the most important decision we'll ever make is deciding what our pain will produce.

This is a very special episode for me in many ways, and I know this will speak to your soul.

The Amazing Race Changed His Life. It Didn’t Define It. | Chris Luca

Before Alex Boylan became the television host, producer and Chapter One contributor in Two Types of People, he was one half of an unlikely pair of childhood friends racing around the globe for $1 million.

The other half was this week’s guest, Chris Luca.

Chris and Alex had been friends since they were four years old. After college, neither was quite ready to commit to a conventional career. They worked together at a summer camp, backpacked through Europe and kept finding ways to delay the question every young adult eventually faces: What now?

Then Alex found a strange online casting notice for a reality show almost no one had heard of.

Chris agreed to apply under one condition: Alex had to complete the application for him.

That decision eventually placed them in Los Angeles for final casting on September 10, 2001. The following morning, they woke up in their hotel room and watched the September 11 attacks unfold. Production stopped. The future of the show became uncertain. Chris and Alex returned to Jacksonville, took jobs at TPC Sawgrass and waited nearly six months for the call that would change their lives.

When it finally came, they were ready.

Chris takes host Pat Sitkins inside the parts of The Amazing Race viewers never saw: the sleepless nights, the physical exhaustion, the near-missed flights, the strange casting process and the promise he and Alex made before the race began. They would never quit. Someone would have to physically remove them from the course. That promise helped carry them through 44 days of discomfort, chaos and relentless uncertainty, culminating in one of the closest finishes reality television has ever seen.

Winning gave Chris opportunities, money, and a brief taste of celebrity. It also helped him understand what he did not want. While Alex was made for Los Angeles and television, Chris eventually returned to Jacksonville, invested in real estate and built a construction career that has now lasted more than two decades. Today, he is the owner and founder of Call Construction, a Northeast Florida luxury remodeling and custom-home company.

His answer to Pat’s defining question ties the entire story together.

There are two types of people in this world: dwellers and forward thinkers.

The dweller remembers, studies and plans, but can become trapped by the past. The forward thinker takes action and accepts risk, but can move so quickly that they fail to learn from what came before.

Chris believes we need both. Growth does not require erasing the person you were. It requires taking the best of your past with you as you move forward.

Inside the Conversation

How Chris Luca and Alex Boylan became friends at four years old

The online popup that started their Amazing Race journey

Receiving the CBS callback while backpacking in the Swiss Alps

Arriving in Los Angeles for final casting on September 10, 2001

How September 11 delayed and reshaped the entire season

Moving to Jacksonville and waiting six months for production to resume

The promise that Chris and Alex would never voluntarily quit

What the cameras did not show about exhaustion and discomfort

Nearly missing a flight just to get another passport stamp

Wired for Greatness | Dr. Kevin Elko & Mitch Covington

Dr. Kevin Elko has 39 Championship Rings, earned with Nick Saban, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and countless elite athletes. Joined by Monster Energy Senior VP of Sports Mitch Covington, this conversation explores anti-fragility, self-talk, leadership, and the mindset behind sustained greatness.

Dr. Kevin Elko has spent decades helping build championship cultures, collecting 39 championship rings while working with organizations like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Alabama Football, the Philadelphia Eagles, the University of Miami, and athletes including Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Rob Gronkowski. Alongside him is Monster Energy Senior Vice President of Sports Mitch Covington, whose career has helped shape one of the most recognizable brands in sports while working with world champions across motocross, Formula 1, NASCAR, UFC, snowboarding, and beyond.

This conversation isn't about motivation. It's about wiring. And winning.

Kevin and Mitch unpack the ideas that have followed them through decades of coaching elite performers. They introduce the concept of anti-fragility. Not simply bouncing back after adversity, but becoming better because of it. They explain why the conversation you have with yourself matters more than the one you're having with anyone else, why success can quietly create failure, and why identity often determines performance long before talent does.

Along the way, they share stories from Nick Saban's Alabama dynasty, the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl run, working with Rob Gronkowski, Jalen Hurts, Monster Energy athletes, and even the recent UFC event at the White House. Yet the conversation keeps returning to the same question. How do you become the kind of person who continues to grow when life gets difficult?

Some of the biggest ideas from this episode include:

• Why resilience isn't enough and what it means to become anti-fragile

• The difference between being inspired and being wired

• Why Kevin believes self-talk is the foundation of performance

• Nick Saban's approach to evaluating attitude before talent

• The Lion vs. Greyhound analogy that has become one of Kevin's signature frameworks

• How Rob Gronkowski used Kevin's "earworms" before every playoff game during Tampa Bay's Super Bowl run

• Why success can become dangerous if you're not paying attention

• The role identity plays in confidence, leadership, and sustained excellence

Whether you're leading a company, coaching a team, building a career, or simply trying to become a little better than you were yesterday, this episode offers a fascinating look inside the mental frameworks that continue to show up at the highest levels of performance.

When Shane met Alex Boylan after his Amazing Race win, he assumed he'd follow the same path as everyone else trying to stay in television. He didn’t. Instead of waiting for opportunities, Alex started at the bottom, logging tapes at a production company, slowly building the career that would eventually lead to DreamJobbing, The College Tour, and becoming one of the most respected creators in educational television.

Shane's Two Types of People:

Dreamers. And dreamers who do.

That single observation becomes the foundation for a conversation about execution, confidence, storytelling, branding, reinvention, and why the people who accomplish remarkable things usually aren't the loudest people in the room.

Along the way, Shane shares:

Why Alex Boylan has always stood apart

The persistence that landed him the Steve Harvey Show when he wasn't supposed to get the job

What separates stories that resonate from those that disappear

The surprising lesson he learned after teaching himself skills he once believed he could never master

Why packing an Emmy into a moving box became one of the defining moments of his career

His Hall of Fame Relic and the story behind it

Why Frank Sinatra's "That's Life" has become the soundtrack to three decades in television

Whether you're building a business, leading a team, creating content, or simply trying to turn ideas into action, this conversation is a reminder that remarkable careers are rarely built by dreaming alone.

Lorena Segura has built a career by embracing new opportunities.

An actress, television host, The Amazing Race competitor, and host of the Spanish-language editions of The College Tour, Lorena has spent her life proving that success doesn't always follow a straight line.

In this episode of Two Types of People, she reflects on the tension between focus and exploration, what it means to reinvent yourself without losing yourself, and why some people are wired to dedicate their lives to one pursuit while others are called to experience many.

Lorena also opens up about walking away from acting, the identity shift that followed, and how she's learned to stop viewing every pivot as failure.

Along the way, we revisit The Amazing Race, discuss working with Alex Boylan on The College Tour, and explore one of the recurring themes emerging throughout this entire project:

Sometimes growth isn't about holding on.

Sometimes it's about letting go.

Before he became "America's Favorite" Houseguest on Big Brother, competed on The Amazing Race, went Around the World for Free, and built a career in television, Jeff Schroeder was just trying to figure out what came next.

In this episode of Two Types of People, Jeff joins Pat Sitkins for a conversation about resilience, opportunity, mindset, and the moments that change the trajectory of a life.

Jeff shares the unlikely path from bouncing to the next job to reality television, world travel, hosting opportunities, and eventually building a life and family alongside fellow Big Brother winner Jordan Lloyd.

Along the way, he reflects on the lessons learned from Alex Boylan, the kindness he experienced traveling the world with no money in his pocket, the impact of losing his mother, and why he believes every success in his life started with a simple decision: believing he could.

Players vs Spectators: and Choosing the Hard Road

Angela Birch, owner of Focus Fitness doesn’t see the world the same way most people do.

When asked the core question, her answer was simple:

Players and spectators.

Some people step into the arena. They take risks, make decisions without guarantees, and choose a path that often feels harder than it needs to be. Others build a life around stability, security, and predictability. Neither is wrong, but they lead to very different experiences.

After 20 years in corporate leadership, she walked away from stability to pursue entrepreneurship, opening and rebuilding fitness facilities from the ground up. It hasn’t been easy. Sleepless nights, constant pressure, and the weight of decisions that don’t always make sense to anyone else. But as she explains, for some people, the “safe” path isn’t even visible. That mindset shows up in everything she does.

From competitive bodybuilding to building businesses, to writing her book Strong Enough to Stand Alone, Angela operates with a level of persistence that borders on relentless. Her definition of determination is straightforward: keep going. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.

In this conversation, we get into:

The difference between playing the game and watching it

Why some people feel pulled toward harder paths

The reality of entrepreneurship and rebuilding from scratch

How consistency beats complexity in both fitness and business

The role of honesty, mentorship, and pushing others to be better

This one isn’t about a blueprint.

It’s about recognizing which role you’re playing… and deciding if that’s actually what you want.

From "Bubble Yum Hustler" to Elite CEO

In this Two Types of People episode Tim Leman, CEO of Gibson, shares insights on business growth, leadership challenges, mentorship, and the importance of perseverance. Discover practical advice and personal stories that highlight the journey of building a successful company and the value of community support.

This isn’t a conversation about surface-level growth or leadership tactics. It’s about what the role actually demands once you’re in the seat.

Tim talks about the weight that comes with leading a company where hundreds of families are counting on your decisions. Not the highlight reel version of being a CEO… the part that doesn’t get posted. The responsibility, the isolation at times, and the reality that no one else fully feels that pressure the way you do.

When asked the core question of the show, his answer came from that lived experience:

Those who know they can’t do it alone… and those who make sure nobody else has to.

It’s a perspective shaped by mentorship, by people who stepped in at critical moments, and by the responsibility to do the same for others. From there, the conversation shifts to something even more foundational - Agency.

Tim’s definition of determination is simple: take ownership. Nobody is coming to save you. Nobody is thinking about your situation the way you are. The people who move forward are the ones who decide to own it and stay in the game long enough for things to break their way.

He also reinforces something that shows up across high performers but rarely gets said this clearly: Outlasting is a strategy. Not flashy. Not easy to sell. But real.

The people who win aren’t always the most talented. They’re the ones who don’t leave.

You’ll also hear:

Why mentorship changed the trajectory of his career and how to actually be a good mentee

The reality behind Gibson’s growth and expansion into new markets

The emotional cost of leadership and how to manage it over time

Why communication and human connection are becoming more valuable, not less

This one is grounded. No noise. Just how it actually works once you are at the helm.

Key Topics

Business expansion strategies

Leadership challenges and loneliness

Mentorship and community support

Persistence and long-term success

Takeaways

Lonely moments are part of leadership but can be mitigated through peer groups.

Success is a long-term journey, often taking decades to realize.

Mentorship is crucial; helping others can be a powerful way to give back.

Guffy Wright, National Sales Leader at The Mahoney Group, breaks down what actually drives performance inside an employee-owned insurance agency. Not theory… execution.

At the center of this bonus episode is his answer to Two Types of People:

Those who understand value… and those who don’t.

This featurette ties directly into the Larry G. Linne episode and brings it into the real world. We get into value as something that’s constantly moving. How you create it, how you communicate it, and why most people never fully understand it.

From ESOP structure to culture plays like their own in-house Agency Pro Shop, to what’s changing in the industry with AI, this is a look at what’s actually working right now.

Topics Covered

Employee ownership and ESOPs in insurance

Building culture that actually sticks - wait till you see the M. Pro Shop

What “value” really means in sales

Why value is constantly in motion

AI and where the industry is heading

The widening gap between performers and everyone else

Failure vs stagnation… and why movement matters

Determination as inevitability, not motivation

Key Lines

“Value is constantly in motion.”
“Failure is better than stagnation.”

*Production note: this was a virtual recording that ran into issues. We worked our magic best we could on this episode, so apologies for some audio issues. However, this conversation was too good not to publish. Sales Professionals, Sales Leaders, and Business Owners will get a ton of VALUE from this episode.

From NFL to Bestselling Author: Larry G. Linne's Journey

Larry G. Linne’s latest work, Keeping It Light, is built around the leadership “isms” of David Pattison… simple, memorable principles that help leaders think clearly, make better decisions, and move faster when things get complex.

Larry’s role was taking those ideas and bringing them to life. Through real-world experience, stories, and application, he helps translate Pattison’s isms into something leaders can actually use day to day.

That’s been the theme across his entire career.

From Bestsellers Make the Noise Go Away and Brand Aid, to contributing to Two Types of People, Larry has built a body of work focused on one thing… making complex ideas simple and executable.

In this conversation, host Pat Sitkins goes deeper into that journey. The grind of writing his first book, the lessons learned along the way, and why most people never follow through on the ideas they say matter to them.

We also get into what it really takes to write, publish, and most importantly… execute.

If you’re building, leading, or trying to simplify what feels overwhelming, this one will hit.

Topics Covered

Keeping It Light and David Pattison’s leadership isms

Translating ideas into real-world application

The story behind Make the Noise Go Away

Co-authoring Brand Aid and building lasting concepts

Why execution separates people more than ideas

What it actually takes to write and publish a book

Doing hard things and why that path matters

Key Line

“Partial success is a sedative.”

What it actually takes to write and publish a book

Doing hard things and why that path matters

Starters vs. Closers | Consistency, Curiosity, and Doing the Work

Andy Neary joins host Pat Sitkins to break down a simple but real distinction: Starters vs. Closers. Not just in baseball… in business, sales, and life.

Starters have ideas. Energy. Intent.
Closers show up consistently, stay curious, and do the work long enough to actually produce results.

In this conversation, we get into routine, role transitions, and why authentic effort always beats talk. Because at a certain level, you can’t fake it. The gap shows.

At least according to Dr. Anne Prisco. As President of Holy Family University, she sees it every day.
In this conversation with host Pat Sitkins, Dr. Prisco breaks down how that philosophy shows up in leadership, education, and culture, and why preparing students to contribute, not just consume, is at the center of everything they do.

The Architects and Builders Behind Great Leadership

Karen Fox sees leadership from a unique vantage point.

As Head of Talent Attraction & Engagement at Berkadia, the largest non-bank commercial real estate lender in the United States, Karen spends her days helping organizations build teams that actually work. Berkadia itself is a joint venture between Berkshire Hathaway and Jefferies, operating at the center of the multifamily commercial real estate world.

So when asked the question at the heart of Two Types of People, Karen didn’t hesitate.

There are two types of people: architects and builders.

Architects see the vision. They shape ideas, influence direction, and design what could be.

Builders make the vision real. They execute, move projects forward, and turn plans into outcomes.

Great teams need both.

In this Featurette, Karen shares how these two types show up in leadership, hiring, and culture. She also reflects on the determination and grit required to succeed in demanding industries and why recognizing different strengths inside a team can make the difference between momentum and stagnation.

Karen has also worked closely with John Biasiello for years, bringing an added layer of insight into how strong leadership partnerships actually function.

Because the question isn’t which type is better.

It’s knowing which one you are and building teams that bring both to the table.

Topics Covered

Karen Fox’s role at Berkadia and the scale of the organization

How talent attraction and culture shape high-performing teams

The difference between architects and builders in leadership

Why organizations need both visionaries and executors

Determination, grit, and long-term career development

Leadership lessons from the commercial real estate industry

From Stone Chippers to Cathedral Builders: Reframing Your Outlook

The conversation moves from John’s early influences and career beginnings to the philosophy that guided him through decades of building, leading, and mentoring others. At the center of it is a simple idea: the difference between people who chip away at tasks and those who build something that lasts.

Along the way, John shares lessons on leadership, culture, long-term thinking, and why reputation is built through the small things done consistently over time. Today, in addition to leading his own M&A firm helping independent agency owners protect their legacy, John also teaches and mentors the next generation through his work with Holy Family University.

In this episode, Pat and John discuss:

• Growing up in the projects of Philadelphia and the influences that shaped John early on
• Building a $100M insurance agency from the ground up
• Why culture matters more than money when scaling a business
• The difference between “stone chippers” and “cathedral builders”
• Long-term thinking and the mindset required to build something meaningful
• The role of mentorship and giving back through education
• Why success is rarely linear and often comes through hard lessons
• What it actually means to be “legendary”
• Why reputation is built through consistent actions over time

Memorable Moments

“Culture matters more than money.”

“I want to be the CEO of a company.”

“It’s not what you do, it’s who you are.”

The [Real] World’s Most Interesting Man: Bob Springer

Have you ever looked up at the stars with curiosity, or dreamt of doing something extraordinary?

Colonel Robert Clyde “Bob” Springer didn’t just sit and wonder. He went out and took action — over and over again. Is he truly “The [Real] World’s Most Interesting Man”? One thing is certain: he’s lived a case study in choosing action over drift.

Marine. Combat pilot. TOP GUN Graduate. Astronaut. Two-time Shuttle crew member. Longtime Boeing team member. Husband. Father. Grandfather. The list goes on… A man who’s looked down on Earth from orbit and seen our divine place in the universe. If there’s anyone who embodies what it means to act instead of drift, it’s him.

Flew 300+ F-4 combat missions in Vietnam (some sources — wink — say 300 in F-4s + 200 in helicopters)

Logged 4,500+ flight hours, including 3,500+ in jet aircraft

Spent over 237 hours in space across two Shuttle missions: STS-29 (Discovery, 1989) and STS-38 (Atlantis, 1990)

Decorated veteran with honors including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, 21 Air Medals, Presidential Unit Citation, NASA Space Flight Medal, Navy Commendation and Achievement Medals

Graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Naval Test Pilot School; flew first flights of new helicopters (AH-1T); and held senior leadership/planning roles in the Marine Corps before NASA selection

The Conversation

In this episode of The Two Types of People, Pat Sitkins sits down with Colonel Robert “Bob” Springer to explore the line between Static and Moving. His stories — from Vietnam dogfights to launching Space Shuttles in the shadow of the Challenger disaster — aren’t just history lessons. They’re proof that life can be epic if you’re awake, ready to take action, and willing to do the work.

We cover:

Carrying confidence without arrogance when the stakes are life or death

Seeing opportunity in the moments others pull back

Why perspective from orbit changes everything

The mindset shift from “Why me?” to “What is this doing for me?”

This isn’t just about combat or space. It’s about the kind of person you choose to be when the world puts a decision in front of you.

Bob Springer made his choice — and lived a life that proves action creates legacy.

Bob Springer made his choice — and lived a life that proves action creates legacy.</itunes:summary>

Steve Wheatcroft: PGA Tour Cards, Rock Bottom, and Starting an Uproar

In this episode of The Two Types of People, former PGA Tour pro Steve Wheatcroft joins host Pat Sitkins for one of the most authentic conversations yet.

From being told “no” six times by Indiana University’s golf coach — and still showing up at his door — to clawing his way onto the PGA Tour, Steve’s story is one of relentless determination. Across 14 years on and off the Tour, he experienced the grind, the wins, and the weight of chasing purpose at the highest level.

Patric Young: Humble or Humbled

“There are two types of people: those who are humble… and those who are going to be humbled.”

From the Final Four to life-altering adversity, the former UF star and SEC analyst shares what it means to rebuild with purpose.

In the premiere episode of The Two Types of People, former Florida Gators standout and SEC Network analyst Patric Young joins host Pat Sitkins to unpack what it means to live with authenticity, purpose, and perspective—especially when life doesn’t go to plan.

From nearly making multiple Final Fours to sustaining a spinal cord injury that changed everything, Patric walks us through his journey with unshakable honesty. He shares how Coach Billy Donovan humbled him early on, why positivity is a daily rep-based discipline, and how helping others has become his greatest form of strength.

This isn’t a comeback story. It’s a call to show up—even when your path breaks wide open.

- Growing up as “the next Dwight Howard”

- The power of repetition and small drills

- Life in a chair, not defined by it

- What the obstacle gave him that basketball couldn’t

- Starting The Patric Young Foundation

- The difference between resilience and resistance

Bonus Round:

What does Determination mean to Patric?

“Every decision we make is a vote for the person we want to be. You can’t flip a switch—you train determination daily, like reps. Like a shell drill.”
