Dying Is the Easy Part

Lambs Among Wolves

Christ sent His apostles to minister to the people “as lambs among wolves.” This daunting imagery tells us that ministry is a journey of complete dependence on God since we are to go out as helpless lambs. It means to assume the position of a slaughtered lamb, to sacrifice ourselves for the life of the world. Each one of us is created in the image of God. We share the same human nature and the same Heavenly Father, yet much in the world opposes that fundamental truth. We must strive for justice and equality, but with all the racial and sociopolitical tension, there is constant pressure to reduce each person to a group identity, which further divides us.

So how exactly can we work to restore our Christian unity and recognize our unique identity in Christ across different races and cultures? This is a critical question that Fr.
