Types of Tourism

While I have talked about what a tourist is, did you know that there is a wide variety of tourism types? Everyone in the travel agency markets whether it be by word of mouth referrals, social media, print, or media they need to know who their niche or clients are and due to this, tourism has branched off into a variety of forms that are all based around classifying the trip you are taking based off of what you are doing while you are travelling.

If you are a travel agent or want to become one, I highly suggest giving this episode a listen as it will give you a really great background as to what "tourism" covers.

In this episode I mention:
- Episode 6: 6+ ways to travel cheap or free

Halloween Around the World

Did you know that Halloween (or some form of the holiday) takes place in different ways around the world? While I have done my fair share of travelling for the holiday, I always find it interesting to learn about how the festival / holiday is enjoyed in other areas around the world if there is a version of it at all. Halloween is one of those holidays that had ancient routes which slowly spread to most of North America and is now continuing to spread to even more nations over the last 20 years. In this episode I briefly touch on the origins of the holiday before where in the world celebrates a version of it, who celebrates the first week of November, and where you will not find it at all.

How to Choose an Airport if there are Multiples in a Location

Welcome to Episode 3! I know that I said I would do one episode per week but as today I wanted to cover two completely different requested topics I decided to split them out into two separate episodes.

This episode is all about answering the question "How do you tell if a city has more than one airport? How do you decide which one to use?". If you really want to increase your flight knowledge and learn not only how to tell if a city has more than one airport to use but also how to read airport codes then this episode is for you. I do mention things like IATA and creating a reference sheet so here are the links to those:

If you are interested in learning about IATA, check out my article here: https://thefemaleabroad.com/iata

Basics of Starting Trip Research

Have you wanted to plan your own trips or are you thinking you might be able to plan them better? Wondering where you should travel? This podcast is for you!

In this episode we go over the three questions (well technically 4) that you need to answer in order to plan your trip properly. I also go over the meaning of high season, low season, and shoulder season as well as what time is best to visit countries around the world. With those answered then we move on to discovering how long you should make your vacation if you are flying somewhere, some European cities that are not in Europe, pick your brain as to what certain sentences mean that could help you save money or add value to your trip, and more!

There is a lot of information covered in 20 minutes so make sure to have a pen & paper to take notes as well as save this episode so you can reference it easier when you need it.
