      <description><![CDATA[<p>Artes Mundi is the internationally focused visual arts organisation for Wales. Every 2 years Artes Mundi produces an exhibition that presents work by some of the world’s best contemporary artists.</p><p>This year for the first time, the exhibition is being shown in 5 venues across Wales. Artes Mundi is grateful for the support of presenting partner the Bagri Foundation, plus the Colwinston Charitable Trust and many others.</p><p>Current exhibition AM10 features works by Rushdi Anwar, Carolina Caycedo, Alia Farid, Naomi Rincon Gallardo, Taloi Havini, Nguyen Trinh Thi and Mounira Al Solh.</p><p>This series of podcast episodes talks to the artists of AM10 and celebrates their installations across Wales. Listeners can hear the artists discuss their work and listen to reactions to their exhibition from community members around Wales. Plus, there will be expert comment and observations from arts and culture professionals.</p><p>Each episode will be themed around one artist. In this episode the focus is Naomi Rincón Gallardo. Naomi Rincón Gallardo was born in the USA. She lives and works in Mexico. Her artwork is being exhibited at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff.</p><p>In this podcast episode, Naomi gives insights into her art, process and inspirations. She talks in detail about her AM10 installation at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff. Plus, community members in Cardiff talk about the impact her artwork has had on them. We’ll hear them discuss their work and listen to reactions to their exhibition from community members around Wales. Plus, there will be expert comment and observations from arts and culture professionals.</p><p>Each episode will be themed around one artist. In this episode we will be focusing on Rushdi Anwar</p><p>Rushdi Anwar was born in Kurdistan and works between Thailand and Australia. His artwork is exhibiting in Amgueddfa Genedlaethol, Caerdydd - The National Museum Cardiff. </p><p>In this episode, Rushdi talks about his work, inspirations and process, as well as discussing his AM10 installation in detail.       <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Artes Mundi is an internationally focused arts organisation that identifies, recognises and supports contemporary visual artists who engage with the human condition, social reality and lived experience.</strong></p><p>Artes Mundi is best known for its biennial international Exhibition and Prize which takes place in Cardiff. The exhibition is one of Wales’ biggest and most exciting contemporary visual art shows. One of the shortlisted artists is awarded the prize of £40,000, the largest art prize in Britain and one of the most significant in the world.</p><p>Artes Mundi 9 launches in March 2021 in a necessarily new virtual and digital format, including this podcast series.</p>
