The Godmother with Lisa Bevere

Welcome to The Godmother podcast! Lisa Bevere believes every woman not only needs a godmother, but she can also be one. A godmother is someone who watches over us and transforms our seasons of hardship into triumph.

Godmothers are those who recognize the gaps in our lives and call us higher. They see opportunities for growth, provide answers, and call out unrealized potential. Listen in as Lisa seeks to connect the goddaughters with the godmothers and watch how God uses relationships to bridge these gaps in our lives.

Rhythms of Rest with Rebekah Lyons

Do you find yourself wearing busyness like a badge of honor? In today’s society, we pride ourselves on to-do lists that create a sense of self-worth. But the truth is busy behavior is usually a byproduct of the things we’re trying to avoid.

What if you created space for yourself to enjoy rest and learn the art of casting your cares? Many things hide behind restlessness, but God calls us to lay them down. Throughout scripture, we find that if we do not choose rest, it will choose us.

God wants us to trust him as we move through life, but we sell ourselves short when we live as if everything depends on us.

In today’s episode, I have the honor of hosting the remarkable Rebekah Lyons, author of Rhythms of Renewal: Trading Stress and Anxiety for a Life of Peace and Purpose. If you've ever struggled with feeling weighed down by anxiety, stress, fatigue, and discouragement, I think you'll be blessed by this conversation. I can’t wait for you to listen in!

You can connect with Rebekah on Instagram @rebekahlyons

Knowing God’s Faithfulness with Jaime Cross

Some dreams keep us up at night. We spend precious time tossing and turning asking ourselves if we’re ever going to go after the things God has put in our hearts? Many women will relate to this familiar ache, knowing they are sitting on untapped potential but unsure where to begin—or when. Though taking the first steps toward the dreams God has placed in you can seem daunting, one thing is clear: we are living in a great awakening full of ministry and entrepreneurship that’s coming from women! If you feel God has more for you, then it’s time to get busy stewarding what God has already put in your hands right now. Today on the podcast, I have the honor of talking with the pure-hearted Jaime Cross. Lean in while we undertake a conversation about God’s faithfulness to the desires of our hearts.

You can connect with Jaime on Instagram at @jaimecrossofficial @mig.living

and check out all things MIG Living at https://migliving.com/her?gclid=Cj0KCQjwmPSSBhCNARIsAH3cYgY5HRcmmSC6bWXZ0oPhQj50zaMj9yDkERovItEp_8SeL5PrDvhkrAoaAmVUEALw_wcB

<itunes:summary>Some dreams keep us up at night.

Restoring Healthy Intimacy with Debra Fileta

Let’s talk about sex! Wait, did I just say that? Yes, I did! As taboo as the church has made this conversation, the importance of talking about a healthy and beautiful sex life remains. In my early married years, God showed me that I had awakened my “love” in the realm of lust and that I must lull the sexual nightmares back to sleep so I could awaken in the realm of true love. Join me and my friend Debra Fileta as we unpack some of the most important ideas related to Married Sex. We often hear about all of the things that hinder us in this area but restoring a sense of normalcy to the topic of cultivating connection is of equal importance to the latter. In this episode, you’ll hear many of the concepts from Debra’s book, along with:

* Shedding light on the things that get in the way of intimacy

* Addressing core beliefs about sex

* Establishing healthy communication and frequencies by learning to ask the right questions

* The hallmark of a healthy sex life

We are so thankful for Debra taking a stance and shedding light on this topic!

You can connect with Debra on Instagram at @debrafileta

Grab a copy of Debra’s new book “Married Sex: A Christian Couple's Guide to Reimagining Your Love Life” here.

https://truelovedates.com/the-married-sex/

—How to find your people
—How loneliness is the silent killer
—God’s plan for community
—The right boundaries to set in relationships
—The power of vulnerability in community

<itunes:subtitle>How should we be approaching the pro-life conversation as the church?

While this is a topic so many people are passionate about, it’s also a conversation that so many people in our culture feel unprepared to have. And it’s not just about having the conversation — how do we love the people in our worlds who are making or who have already walked the road of making this decision? Today we’re unpacking this on the podcast with my friend Amy Ford.

Amy Ford is a wife, mother, and founder of the pro-life organization Embrace Grace. I can’t wait for you to hear as she shares her powerful story of choosing life when she found herself unexpectedly pregnant at 19, and how that decision has opened the door to care for women nationwide who find themselves in similar positions.

In this episode, Amy shares:
—her own story of choosing life for her unborn son
—how the church can better care for women who find themselves with unexpected pregnancies
—how God has redemption, hope, and a plan for EVERY person — even those who have had abortions
—why being “pro-love” is even more powerful than being pro-life

I hope this episode equips you to care for those in your life who have walked this road. And if you have walked this road yourself, I hope you listen and know that God has redemption, hope, and a future for you!

Permission To Be Who God Created You To Be with Hosanna Wong

In this episode, I sit down with my good friend & someone who has been a goddaughter in my life, Hosanna Wong, as we talk about what it means to walk in everything God has for us. Hosanna shares how it has been the hardest moments of her story that God has used to mold her into the person He created her to be. She dives into the moment she realized that you can’t be a hero without a battle, and how that mindset has shaped the way she lives today.

Ultimately, we all want someone to give us permission and to challenge us to be exactly who God has created us to be. As Hosanna shares how receiving that permission was pivotal in her own life, I hope this conversation gives you that same permission. The world needs what YOU have—it’s time to get MOVING!

Connect with Hosanna on Instagram at @hosanna.wong and on her website at hosannawong.com.

To grab a copy of the Godmothers book, visit: messengerpodcasts.com/godmothers.
