Also, a look back at the all-time hoops series between FAU & BC. Plus, Ken re-litigates the decision to lift the 2023 Final Four banner at Midnight Madness instead of the '23 home opener in light of the NHL's decision to have the Panthers raise their Stanley Cup banner at 5p on a weekday. In another wild turn of events, Conference USA is shedding more teams. It's hardly recognizable to the league FAU was a part of. Ken proposes a team that the AAC may want to look at and laments the current state of FIU, who appears to be just existing. From a college football standpoint, after weeks of College Football Playoff format speculation, Ken has had enough. The sports FBS power brokers don't care about the Group of 6 and will never care about them, so it's time to act. Ken gives his proposal for a G6 College Football Playoff format. It's time to play for something other than a random end-of-year, transfer portal-tarnished bowl game. Also, while it's a good thing the College Football Hall of Fame slightly altered its overall winning percentage requirement to allow Mike Leach entry into the institution, it does nothing to help the man whose absence completely invalidates the Hall of Fame, Howard Schnellenberger. If Miami and Louisville and just going to ignore this injustice, then it's time for FAU to act.

Yes, FAU Basketball's regular season was successful

And now that FAU needs to go perfect the rest of the way to become bowl eligible, it's likely time to start re-calibrating what constitutes a season "win" the rest of the way. Also, yes, the handshake drama between Tom Herman and Alex Golesh has become a major story. Ken explains why, ultimately, that testy exchange is validation for FAU.

With new, massive financial obligations coming to college athletics in the coming years, new AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti offered a solution to help the league weather the storm. His words, however, were misrepresented by a sports law journalist, leading to a firestorm of criticism from fans of conference schools, including a chorus of "Get us out of this league!" from the old guard fans of USF, Memphis, Tulane and East Carolina. Pernetti, however, not only had his words misconstrued, Ken also believes that what he proposed was extremely smart. He needs an apology. Also...Ken wants to reassure FAU fans that they can still say..."FAU".

Last year was a disappointing one for FAU Football, but the preseason ESPN FPI paints a much better picture for Florida Atlantic fans. The predictive model, with a much easier schedule than 2023, gives FAU a very real chance of bowl eligibility...and maybe even more! Factor in FAU's FPI rank, the FPI rank of its opponents, a favorable non-conference AND league slate, not to mention a little luck that the Owls didn't have last year and an FAU bowl game is very much in the cards. Also, college football's best predictive formula in 2023 thinks that FAU will have Michigan State on Week 0 and Week 1's biggest upset alert. Finally, congrats to Michigan State on its...not to traditional national championships.

Mr. Fogelman answered questions about the scouting report, how it got to FAU and gave his memories of the baseball legend. Also, with sniping taking place between the FAU and USF football programs this week, we went back to discover why there's so much buzz surrounding USF and looked back at their 2023 season...which needs some serious context to tell the FULL, maybe not so spectacular, story of their 7-6 finish.
