What we unearthed in this conversation is that our lives are framed by time. When we isolate the issues that women in their early 20s face we are not able to separate the similarity between the issues faced by women in the workforce later in life. The pandemic certainly gave us one, and yet the efforts have been far from collaborative. People turn to their local communities during a time of crisis but these local communities need support from their federal, national and global partners and during this pandemic, we have seen a lack of leadership across the globe that has ultimately led to drastic variability in access to the COVID tests, PPE and ultimately vaccinations. There are a number of questions right now on how we move forward as a global community. Is it possible to have a vaccine passport? Who should control a central database of covid vaccine administrations? Does a single taxpayer healthcare system make it easier to administrate vaccinations? Ultimately only time will tell how we move forward in a post pandemic era but we believe that without global leadership this task will be much harder.
