In this week's show, Dave shares the story of his early life and how he responded to the gospel when he was 7. He talks about the difficulties of school life and feeling different.

Dave goes on to talk about getting a job at 18 and then settling into working life and deciding not to come to church at all for many years. He describes an amazing holiday in New York and also how the events of 9/11 had a profound and lasting effect on him and how that brought him, reluctantly, back to church.

In part 2 next week, we'll hear about how Dave eventually began to open up and deal with an issue that he had been "pushing down' for all of his life and the way that shaped his life and relationship with Jesus.

In this week's show, we chat to Sarah over Zoom. Sarah shares her story from her early days in Cornwall, then the midlands before she moved with her family to Kenya when she was 7. She taks about the highs and lows of her school life before she returned to the UK, wthout her parents, to study A levels.

Altough this was time she loved, it also marked the start of a perid in her life that prived difficult and had a deep effect on her Christian life.

Sarah also chat about a new passion she has for coaching which is, at the moment, cented on the team she and Christoff lead in Nairobi for AIM.

She speaks about the pridigal son and also Hebrews ch 12 v 2..looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Also, Srah wanted to recommend a book but we forgot to include it in our chat!

The is week, Henrietta shares her remarkable story and how she, in spite of lots of difficulties and heartache, clearly testifies and rejoices in God's care for her and her children. From her poor but happy childhood in Sierra Leone, to training to be a nurse the UK. In a class of 86 students, she was the only person of colour. She describes the rascism and prejudice she suffered during that time and how she determined to not let it affect her.

The next few years were spent in between Sierra Leone and times of training in the UK before she finally settling here after a PhD.

She talks about the challenges of bringing up her own 2 children along with her sisters son and 2 other children she adopted, loved and cared for!

Henrietta's inner joy, her resilience and her love for her Saviour are a joy to hear and experience.

Chris shares his and his family's real experiences of God working out His plan in their lives and how, looking back, they can see the Hand of providence at work in their hearts and also their circumstances.

Chris and Sarah's experience is a real encouragement to us all when we're struggling to see and know God's will for our lives. We discuss the partnership that exisits between a believer and God and how this works so that His purposes can be done through us and we are active participants in that!

It's also a real blessing to see how God has used and equipped them so they can now help other new missionaries who are going through the same struggles and difficulties Chris and Sarah went through.
