He had great success with his slider 19 swings at his slider, 13 of which were swings and misses, and got seven of his eight strikeouts with it.

Corbin was lights-out, putting up four shutdown innings. He finished 6 ⅔ innings with five hits, two runs, one walk and eight strikeouts (one shy of his season high).

CJ Abrams hits 2 HR

Abrams came back to hit his 18th homer in the seventh, a solo shot off a low fastball that traveled 383 feet just over the wall in right field. It gave the 22-year-old his first multi-homer game of his career.

Smith also homers and helps lift the Nats over the Pirates.

Former Nationals pitcher Brandon Kintzler on why he was traded from the Nationals, overcoming adversity and how his early BMX Championships prepared him for playing under the lights on the big stage.
In a matter of 11 days in July a scathing Chelsea Janes article hit and Kintzler's words were used anonymously, and then days later Trea Turner was accused of using racist and homophobic slurs in social media when he was younger and all of this was going on when Bryce Harper was rumored to being traded and then the final straw was the Jeff Passan article that said the Nats had a clubhouse issue citing 3 unnamed sources. Kintzler was immediately traded and called a rat, not by name, by GM Mike Rizzo.
