Luckily Kelsey is also a coffee addict like me, and she agreed to bring me a cup and tell me more about her life in Australia, how she been able to listen to her creative impulses and of course gimme all the details of how she and her team pulled off the Harry Style face tattoo stunt. ]]> Ron Pope Emily Kinney 00:56:19 Ron Pope has managed to build an impressive career, and massive fan following all over the world completely independent. First by rallying fans by posting music on myspace and asking for their support. Eventually, Ron and his wife formed their own record label, Brooklyn Basement Records. Ron and I both spent a lot of time in NYC and have some mutual friends, but we really connected after running into each other at a coffee shop called Dose in Nashville. I was so happy to not only catch up but also learn more about Ron’s experience in the music industry. ]]> Delta Spirit Emily Kinney 00:49:00 In town for tour rehearsal, Matt Vasquez and John Jameson, of Delta Spirit agreed to stop by my house and make me a cup of coffee. Like many of you, I was first introduced to Delta Spirit through The Walking Dead. I was curious to learn more about them the band and what they had been up since taking a break after their last record. From early days of forming the band to taking time for solo endeavors, we cover a lot of ground in this week’s podcast. John and Matt have collected a lot of insight and stories over their years together touring and creating music. I can’t wait to see what they do next. You probably know Josh from How I Met Your Mother or Hunters on Amazon, or maybe even from his career as a singer-songwriter with his band Radnor and Lee. I talked to Josh about his career, his music, and been his newsletter called Museletter which I find consistently illuminating and motivating to read whenever it shows up in my inbox.
