The news of Gronk heading to Tampa should have shocked nobody. Maybe the worst kept secret in the NFL was Rob Gronkowski would only come out retirement to play on a team with Tom Brady. As for Tampa Tom, he was able to get his safety net out of retirement by only giving up a 4th round pick to the Patriots. Look, Tampa Bay is a great place to retire and eating dinner at lunchtime is always better when you have a buddy with you. So good old Roger Goodell is going to conduct the NFL Draft from his basement in an undisclosed location someplace in New York. Now I’m sure Goodell’s basement is actually not a typical basement. I imagine Goodell has one of those prototypical man cave bars that is fully loaded with a ton of whiskey, bourbon and how hard to pronounce wine. The bar probably also includes a see-through mini-refrigerator which is fully loaded with Bud Light Seltzer that Goodell never drinks.

The very idea that Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf felt like they needed to rebuild the Chicago Bulls in the late '90s is crazy. It would be equivalent to Robert Kraft saying that he had enough of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick after 3 Super Bowl Championships. Krause and Reinsdorf clearly are the undisputed villains of the first two episodes of 'The Last Dance." The fact that refused to redo Scottie Pippen's contract when he was one of the 10 players in the NBA says everything you need to know about the Jerry's. As for Michael Jordan, it was awesome to be reminded of his legendary work ethic in practice and during games. It is hard to believe, but it has been more than two decades since Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and a ragtag cast of characters won their 6th and final championship. The documentary will primarily feature footage that an NBA Entertainment crew complied as they followed the Bulls around for the entire 1997-98 season. Beyond the footage, the documentary will feature a ton of present-day interviews which I’m sure will be highly entertaining. Look I can’t wait to see Dennis Rodman’s hair color, clothes, and yes I’m looking forward to trying to decode what he says.

The reality is the Tour has a wide variety of issues to solve in order for golf to return in June. It’s not like two players can just show up at the golf course, play a round of golf, and still have the event magically broadcast on national television. Drone technology is not that advanced yet and there are a bunch of other physical issues that did not exist when Tyrrell Hatton won The Arnold Palmer Invitational back on March 8th.

The mothership hand-planned on releasing its 10-part documentary ‘The Last Dance’ in June but as the world found its self suddenly dealing with the social distancing requirements caused by the coronavirus pandemic, fans across the globe starting applying pressure to ESPN to release the documentary earlier.

1) Get Charles Barkley, Shaq, and The Rest of The TNT Team Out of Early Retirement
I think there is defiantly time for a short 15 minute pregame, halftime and post game shows. Watching Charles Barkley, Shaq and Kenny “The Jet” Smith attempt to comment on video games would be priceless. Plus it would give the rest of America much needed practice in trying to decode Shaq’s mumbling humor. It took me years to figure out what Shaq was saying and I hate to fall out of practice because of the coronavirus pandemic.

2) MTV “Cribs” Style Home Preview
During the pregame show I would like to see an MTV Cribs style tour of each players gamer cave and other parts of their homes. Who doesn’t want to see how Kevin Durant’s, DeMarcus Cousins and other NBA players live? Don’t you want to know if Patrick Beverley really has a Red Kia and a Rolls Royce hanging out in the same garage.

3) Use Live Broadcasters
I recommend Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller who are both certainly available to call games. Trust me Kevin Harlan can make anything sound exciting. I bet he can even turn a trip to a grocery story into an Emmy Award winning play-by-play performance – you can just tell that Marsha is clearly an MVP caliber shopper. Just watch as she enters the frozen food section, she carefully stalks her prey, and comes out the other end in just under 28 seconds. Not only is Marsha a fast shopper, but she is also as a agile as one of those high-wire performers from Cirque du Soleil.

4) Sideline Reporter – Everyone Loves Doris
Doris Burke who recently recovered from the coronavirus would be a perfect virtual sideline reporter. During timeouts Burke could do streaming videos with players and coaches. Watching Doris interview Gregg Popovich or LeBron James about Patrick Beverley’s video game skills would certainly deliver a memorable viewing experience.

5) Limit Smack Talk Between Players
Look I love the smack talk between players when it is actually smack talk. But I heard way to much “how’s it going,” followed by the unwitty response of “good man.” The solution is simple – overlay live broadcasters and drop in player smack talk before and after timeouts.

The NFL Draft remains on the clock as Roger Goodell sent out a league-wide memo which essentially said the show must go on. The Draft will be held virtually on April 23-25th.

Goodell did throw down the law by threatening teams with disciplinary action if any teams publicly criticize the decision.

“The NFL Management Council Executive Committee was unanimous and unequivocal that the Draft should go forward as scheduled on April 23-25,” Goodell wrote. “Public discussion of issues relating to the Draft serves no useful purpose and is grounds for disciplinary action.”

Todd Gurley. was cut by the Rams who didn't want to pay a running back $17 million dollars a year to rush for 800 yards. The Falcons wasted no time and signed him for just $6 million a year. Gurley will still make $11 million as the Rams are on the hook for the difference.

Spike Lee has officially given up on going to Knicks games this year and it's all because of the way James Dolan and the New York Knicks handled a new policy related to an employee entrance.

Dolan has clearly built the strongest and best-run dysfunctional organization in the NBA. An organization that has everyone afraid of being fired. In fact, Spike Lee said the security guards won't talk to him because they are afraid of being fired. Seriously, someone needs to remind Dolan that he owns the Knicks and that he is not a dictator in a third world country.

Dave Dabbah breaks down why LeBron James is the real NBA MVP. Let's just say there is more to winning the MVP than just looking at stats. Both LeBron James and Giannis have comparable stats. LeBron averages 25 points, 8 rebounds and over 10 assists a game. While Giannis averages 30 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists a game. Statistically, the edge goes to Giannis, but solely relying on stats to choose an MVP is not how MVPs should be selected in the NBA. If the MVP award was only based on stats than no one would need to vote.

LeBron finds himself in Western Conference dog fights every night, while Giannis gets to play a bunch of weak Eastern Conference teams of which many should be sent to the G-League like the Cavs, Hawks, Knicks, Pistons, Bulls, Hornets and Wizards. In addition, the current 7th and 8th seeds in the East are the Nets and Magic which are both well below 500.

It's amazing that so many members of the media are not giving LeBron the respect he deserves for the season he is having. The NBA has always been about giving the MVP to its rising superstar and too often ignore the performance of qualified veterans. In this case, just watch a few Bucks and Lakers games and you will clearly see that LeBron does more for his team than Giannis.

The rumors of Tom Brady leaving New England have officially heated up at the NFL combine. Reports from around the league indicate Tom Brady's divorce with the Patriots is really happening. Where does Tom go from here?

We cover three angles of the story. The first being where Tom should go? The answer is simple - Tom should call up Bill Belichick, apologize for being un-patriot like and agree to sign a two year contract at a deeply discounted price. Look I don't think this will happen unless the free agent market for 43 year old quarterbacks with weak arms isn't as strong as Tom thinks it is. Since, the Patriots have no apparent QB replacement in mind, taking TB12 back would be the smartest thing for the Pats to do!

So where do I think Tom Brady will go? I know many of you think Tom should go to the LA Chargers. When I ask people why? They always say because its warm! Look the Chargers have a terrible offense line, less than zero fan support and an owner that prefers to save money, rather than try to win a ring. Simply put - the Chargers are cheap.

The sun of Southern California, the new stadium, and the Hollywood celebrity factor could be too much for Tom to pass up, but in the end I think Tom will settle down with his old buddy Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. The Titans have a fantastic offense line, a great running game which would take the pressure off Tom's weak arm and most importantly Tom would remain in the east which would give him a chance to beat up on his former team.

Now, lets discuss where I would love to see Tom go. Can you say the Las Vegas Raiders. Just think about the last team in the NFL that you'd expect to see Tom play for from an image perspective and your left with the silver and black of the Raiders. A beautiful new stadium which looks like Darth Vader was the lead architect behind the design. Unlike the Chargers, the Las Vegas Raiders games will be sold out.

The Raiders have such a loyal fan base that many of them would mortgage their houses to watch the Raiders play in a third world country. From a personal perspective this team is clearly on the rise thanks to Mike Mayocks leadership. Tom would own Vegas and their would be nothing better than watching a clean-cut guy like Tom Brady turn into a Raider. I wonder if Tom would call up the lost in the forrest looking Ben Roethlisberger and ask for advice on how to grow an out of control beard.

Plus the Washington Redskins should pick Tua Tagovailoa with the second pick - I'm done with Dwayne Haskins and Washington should be too.

4th quarter chaos, diving on the ground for loose balls, block shots, goaltending, and players actually wanting to win the game made this the best quarter of basketball I've watched all year. All of this and more can directly be attributed to the brilliant rule changes that Adam Silver and the NBA implemented. The targeted scoring format for the 4th quarter resulted in actual defense being played and even Kyle Lowry stood in the key and took a charge in an actual All-Star Game. Mad respect Kyle!
