After mentioning him on nearly every episode this year, Cody and Cody finally get to talk to former U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-AL). Jones shocked the world by winning a U.S. Senate seat from the state of Alabama during a special election in 2017. After losing that seat to the dreaded football coach turned Florida resident Tommy Tuberville, Jones was on the shortlist for Attorney General under President Joe Biden, a position that ultimately went to Merrick Garland. Now, Jones is staging a political comeback as he prepares to run for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Alabama. But it won't be easy, Jones is running as a moderate Democrat in a deeply red state. But he's shocked the world once, can he do it again?

Cory and Cody discuss Jones' vision for Alabama, why he chose to run, and illustrate the stark differences between him and his likely opponent current Senator Tommy Tuberville. Jones also condemns Tuberville's recent bigoted remarks about Muslims in Alabama while explaining the dangers of electing extremists like Tuberville.

*BONUS EPISODE: In this special, midweek bonus episode, Cody sits down with Stacy Abdein, an assistant principal at the Islamic School of Alabama. Her school came under fire from Republican politicians after they attempted to move locations, from their longtime home in Homewood, Alabama to Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. The City of Hoover rejected the Islamic School's attempt to rezone a property for a new school citing traffic issues, but the city council meeting where the school made its case was meet with hateful protestors who engaged in Islamicphobic rants against the school itself. This meeting set off a controversy in the state of Alabama which led to Alabama's U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (who doesn't even live in Alabama) to declare that all Muslims should be kicked out of the state. Stacy discusses how this hateful bigotry has affected the school and breaks down why the school wanted to move in the first place.

This week, Cory and Cody welcome their first official guest on the show as they sit down with former congressman and longtime educator Jamaal Bowman, Ed.D, to discuss a variety of issues from dark money in politics to the current state of the Democratic Party. Bowman served as the representative of New York's 16th U.S. House district for four years between 2021 and 2025 before losing his primary race in 2024. His loss has been attributed to his steadfast support of Palestinian human rights and his stark criticism of the state of Israel after their widespread bombing campaign against the people in Gaza following the October 7 attacks by Hamas. Bowman doesn't regret his support for the Palestinian cause, and in this episode he speaks at length about what he learned from his years in Congress and what he plans to do next.

Cory and Cody also discuss why so many corporations continue bowing to the Trump as well as the changes these companies have made to their corporate culture under the new Trump regime. We also have a detailed discussion on the current threats to the Voting Rights Act and how these threats could lead to some of the worst voting conditions Black Americans have seen since the 1960s.
