VOICE ACTOR - PERFORMER - VOCALIST

I am an award winning voice actor, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a unique skill set to any project. A voice actor whose work has been praised internationally as recipient of the Outstanding Body of Work- Best International Voice for the SOVAS awards 2026. With a penchant for accents, song writing and impersonations, I have presented weekend breakfast on Nova 919 in Adelaide as well as breakfast and drive at Fresh 92.7.

Having studied improvisation at The Groundling's School, completed a Bachelor of Music - Classical Voice Performance from the Elder Conservatorium, I have gone on to perform back-up vocals for Michael Buble and have graced various stages with Adelaide band The Vanity Cure. I have co-produced Cabaret trio The Vox Trust at the Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals, as well as writing and composing the original musical 'The Hipster'. I currently sing for State Opera of South Australia.

I love a work out fad (right now it's wall pilates) or indulging in playing naff 90's pop on my piano. I have two children and a husband with a flair for magic tricks.

Currently I produce and co-host the podcast The Beautiful Nightmare, recently awarded for Best Australian Comedy Podcast 2024, and Nominee 2023. I am also a committee member of AAVA- The Australian Association of Voice Actors.

Vocal & Acting Coach
She/Her

Casmira is an experienced performer and qualified teacher with a great passion for storytelling, mental health, and vocal health.

Her teaching experience spans multiple disciplines and age groups, beginning her career as a Theatre Sports Coach, and moving into teaching young people 6months to 18 years dance, drama, and private singing lessons at Adelaide Theatre Academy. There she also headed the ‘in schools program’ taking performance workshops into various schools around South Australia as well as specialised singing workshops for the Wakkakirri Festival.

Casmira is a qualified middle/secondary teacher, and has taught Drama, Music and English ELC – Year 11 at Marryatville High School, St Peter’s College (boys) and for the last 5 years at Wilderness School.

As a performer, highlights have included performing the role of ‘Violet’ in Davine Productions’ Violet (for which she won the TASA award for Best Female Performance 2017) and ‘Fantine’ in the G&S Society’s production of Les Misérables (for which she was nominated for a Curtain Call: Best Female Performance 2018).

In 2018 she performed in Edges with Irregular Productions for the Adelaide Fringe Festival, ‘Shelby’ in Steel Magnolias with IpSkip, ‘The Lady of the Lake’ in Spamalot with Marie Clark Musical Theatre (winner of Best Ensemble Curtain Call 2018), and the ‘Sour Kangaroo’ in Seussical with Northern Light Theatre Company.

In 2019 Casmira played nine characters in Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court with Davine Productions (which won Best Ensemble and Best Musical at the 2019 Curtain Call Awards, as well as the TASA for Best Musical) and Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme in Assassins for Hills Musical Company.

Professionally, Casmira has acted and provided voices for several short films and children’s productions. She also spent many years directing and music directing musicals for Adelaide Theatre Academy, including Snow White and Alice in Wonderland for the Festival Centre’s ‘Something on Saturday’ program. Some of her fondest memories are working with Peter Combe in directing and choreographing his Adelaide Fringe Festival shows from 2013-2015.

She recently spent 2 years performing in the World tour of The Phantom of the Opera as an ensemble member and Madame Giry cover. Prior to this she spent 2 years performing in the Australasian tour of The Phantom of the Opera for Really Useful Company/Gordon Frost Organisation as an ensemble swing performer, and Madame Giry cover (2007-2009), and she toured in the Asian production of the same show, which saw her working in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore (2005-2007; 2012-2015). She also performed in Phantom from 1994-1998 for Cameron Mackintosh in their Australasian tour.

She first sang with State Opera of South Australia in the 1990s, and since then she has performed various roles, covers and chorus plots.

Deborah is also a member of The Adelaide Vocal Project who most notably performed the trilogy of Philip Glass’ ‘Portrait Operas’, from 2002-2007, including Satyagraha, (where she played Gandhi’s secretary Miss Schlesen), Einstein on the Beach and Akhnaten.

Deborah is also a busy concert performer. She has been soloist with the ASO on a number of occasions (including Symphony in the Serengeti at Monarto Zoological Park) and she has been a regular soloist with The Adelaide Male Voice Choir.

With her producing partner, Adam Goodburn, Deborah formed SINGular Productions, a local Adelaide-based performing group in order to create new and exciting performing opportunities. They have produced a number of shows to date,(I Love You, You;re Perfect, Now Change; Elegies - A Song Cycle; It's a Dad Thing, the Musical; Different Fields; What is This Thing Called Love?), and they are currently developing a completely new opera based on the novel "Time's Long Ruin" by Adelaide author Stephen Orr.

A writer, director and teacher, Jonathan’s work has taken him from tiny Outback schools to the bright lights of Broadway. He is a regular teacher at West Side Actors Studio, Actors Centre Australia, NIDA, Flinders University, ATYP, Brent Street, Sydney Actors Studio and the Centre for Performing Arts.

He has been a member of many boards and advisory committees, including the National Performance Conference, the Griffin Theatre, the National Live Theatre Council of Australia, the National Performers Committee and the Federal Council of MEAA as well as the Equity Diversity Committee. Blood Brothers and David Williamson’s Up for Grabs at the Zenith Theatre; The Norman Conquests and The Woman in Black at Sydney’s Genesian Theatre. Musicals include Urinetown and Spring Awakening in Singapore, Titanic – the Musical, The Hatpin, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar as well as music director for Les Misérables. George is also an accomplished opera director and has directed La Bohéme, La Traviata, Susannah and The Marriage of Figaro for Opera New England. Most recently, he directed Spring Awakening for ECMT at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

From 1997 – 2008 he was the Chief Conductor for NSW Department of Education & Training and was artistic director of the Sydney Opera House Concert Series. In 2000 he arranged, conducted and recorded the National Anthem for the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and was also the vocal coach for the Opening Ceremony. He was the Choral Director of the Schools Spectacular from 1998-2007. In 2008, he was the Director of Music and Judge on Channel 7’s Battle of the Choirs.

George is the author of the first national syllabus in musical theatre for the Australian Music Examinations Board and currently serves as their advisor and Chief Examiner. He is a published arranger with Hal Leonard Australia and has also released a singing series for schools entitled ChoralTime!

Gale Edwards has been the recipient of three Sydney Critics Circle Awards, five Green Room Awards, two Mo Awards, an Emmy Award, two Helpmann Awards, two nominations for the Helen Hayes Awards and a 2000 Centenary Medal ‘for Service to Australian Society’.  She received a Convocation medal from Flinders University for outstanding professional achievement in the field of dramatic art, and an Australian Export Award for International Achievement in the Arts representing Australia.  Her career and her many achievements in the performing arts were celebrated in a 2013 exhibition “Gale Edwards: The Girl from Oz,” held as part of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s 40th Anniversary celebration. Gale has taught acting and directing all over the world, from her early practice at Secondary Schools in South Australia, which gave birth to her first theatre company, Energy Connection in 1980, to holding the position of full time Acting Lecturer and Play Director at the National Institute of Dramatic Art for five years from 1982.  In 2014 she renewed her connection with Flinders University by taking up a position as Professor of Drama for several months, during which time she taught a number of specially-targeted master classes as well as regular topics in the Drama program, and also commenced research on her forthcoming autobiography.

Since graduating from AC Arts (3 years, Ad. Dip. Acting) Ruth starred as Rhapsody for four years on Channel 7/Nickelodeon’s ‘The Fairies’. After 3 seasons, 5 DVD’s and 7 national tours she went on to have roles in ABC’s ‘Prank Patrol’ Netflix’s ‘Going For Gold' and ‘Real Rob’ with Rob Schneider. She was also fortunate enough to co-star in ‘Welcome To Iron Knob’, a winner at both the Sydney Film Festival and the Australian Screen awards.

Ruth went on to gain her Martial Arts Instructorships with Sifu Nino Pilla, along with his two teachers Guro Dan Inosanto and Ajarn Chai Sirisute, in the arts of Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan/Gung Fu Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts Kali/Escrima/Arnis/Silat (empty hand and weaponry) and Muay Thai/Thai Boxing. She is also a MEAA graded Stunt Action Person (SAP). These qualifications have seen her take on Action Acting roles on Disney's 'Nautilus', ABC’s ‘Wastelander Panda’, AMC’s ‘Firebite’, ‘The Rackaracka’ with Danny and Michael Philippou, and 'The Hilltop Hoods'. She is a regular fight/action choreographer for the State Theatre Company of South Australia, State Opera of South Australia, along with independent companies and schools all over Australia. This work also saw her working as a Stunt Group Leader on Marvel's ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’

In 2022 Ruth completed her Intimacy Coordination qualifications with HBO Coordinator Alicia Rodis. This has seen her as an Intimacy Coordinator for Stan's ‘The Tourist’, ABC’s ‘Aftertaste’ AMC’s ‘Firebite’, The State Theatre Company of South Australia, The State Opera of South Australia, and feature film 'Talk To Me', 'The Royal Hotel', and upcoming series 'Narrow Road To The Deep North' and 'Desert King.'

She is also a regular voice over artist for radio and TV commercials, and a proud equity member, currently serving as the president of the South Australian Performers Committee.

Academic Fellow at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, University of Melbourne.

Utilising both his training as a psychologist and multidisciplinary research expertise across the fields of clinical psychology, sport psychology, and neuropsychology, Dr Courtney's research explores mental health within competitive performance environments. His research is primarily focused on the contexts of sport and the performing arts, with particular interests in self-compassion, body image, and gender.

In May 2023, he took up an Academic Fellowship at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences (2023-2026). Here, he primarily conducts research on:

• Mental health among elite and youth athletes.
• The role of compassion-based interventions for mental health in sport and the performing arts.

PJ has worked in many forms of Live theatre, TV and corporate forums such as "Hey, Hey it's Saturday" and New Faces in the late 80's to apprearances at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra with specific material written over his career.

PJ Oaten is known for his role as Barnaby in three series of the popular children's TV series "The Fairies" as well as appearances on Australian Soapie Neighbours, Skithouse a sketch comedy show, The Australian children's show The Music Shop and in the Daniel Radcliffe movie "Escape From Pretoria" (2020) - IMDB.

I use an integrated approach that is tailored to client needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulnesss-based therapies, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).

I believe that every person is unique who has inherent strengths and intuition. In addition to my experience as a performer and communications advisor, I am a qualified teacher and bring a wealth of life experience and interests to my practice.
