We got together with our friends from all across the Commanders community to see what they thought of the roster.  We asked them to make a video and break down different roster positions.  Check out all of their decisions and most definitely check out their channel and become a subscriber.

There were plenty of storylines from Dan Quinn’s shirt to Kliff Kingsbury’s hat to Jayden Daniels’ number.  There were also plenty of on field stories to discuss to include an immediate connection between JD & 3rd round pick Luke McCaffrey.

UDFA wide receiver Rosemy-Jacksaint stole the highlight of the weekend with a ridiculous one-handed catch.  The biggest disappointment may have been prized 2nd round pick Johnny Newton who watched practice with a boot on his LEFT foot, not the foot previously injured.

Stoner had a problem with the Newton pick but understands why Washington could not pass up the value.  Other than Coleman, each of the other picks have a chance to start Day 1.  Will they?

Both of these QBs are possible late first round picks. Could the Commanders trade back for more picks and take one of these? It's possible. But only one can be picked. Who do you think will rise to the top?

Tennessee’s Joe Milton has some great measurables.  But make no mistake, he does not possess the skills to be an NFL quarterback.  Drake Maye could easily win this matchup.

However, Joe Milton could very well make the switch to TE Logan Thomas a few years down the road.  He has the size and athleticism to do so.

Is there anyone out there who might choose Milton over Maye?

Jeff Cavanaugh from Bleav in Cowboys says the Commanders are an enigma.  He can’t get over a team with such a good roster has had terrible results.  He also breaks down why he doesn’t understand the love/hate relationship with Cowboys fans and quarterback Dak Prescott.

Sam Howell looked bad.  He really struggled on all kinds of throws and threw 3 interceptions.  The defense continues to give up chunk plays, the most in the league.

And yet Ron Rivera still has a job.  What will it take for Rivera to be shown the door?

The turnovers were the biggest problem.  Washington committed 6 of them.  It kept their offense from sustaining drives and forced the defense into protecting short fields which they could not do as the Giants scored 21 points off the turnovers.

But coaching is the biggest reason for the failures.  In year 4, Ron Rivera’s team still cannot put a competent team on the field.  It’s embarrassing and Ron Rivera should be fired TODAY!

Ron has definitely improved the culture within the organization.  However, he lucked his way into Sam Howell.  He didn’t draft him to be the franchise QB.  He did it as an afterthought.

But the most important question is about winning.  Has he done enough?  Of course not.  The most he’s won is 8 games.

We look at the injuries for both teams and who we expect to play and we also dive a little more into Sam Howell and what Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale thinks of the Commanders QB.

Sam Howell was once again a straight beast but couldn’t overcome a Jack Del Rio led defense and gave up almost 500 yards and another 29 points.

On the flip side, the Seahawks are coming back home after traveling out to the East Coast and getting whipped 37-3 to the Baltimore Ravens.  Gino Smith has struggled the last 4 games and the offense as a whole hasn’t been able to get untracked.

Washington’s offense was very efficient as they rack up more than 430 yards and go 9-17 on 3rd down to improve to 4-5.  The Patriots fall to 2-7 as they continue to decide if Mac Jones is the quarterback of the future.

Offensively, OC Eric Bieniemy said he knows the team needs to run more.  He wants to get his back more heavily involved.  He was also pleased with the communication of the revamped offensive line and expects it to continue.

Why does this team, with 6 first rounders, continue to give up 30+ points? When do we start seeing some accountability? The Eagles could not be stopped unless they stopped themselves. If not for fumbling twice inside the 10 yard line, they could have scored 50+ points. AJ Brown once again dominated and Jalen Hurts could stand back and do whatever he wanted.

However, on offense the game plan changed. Instead of so many deep drop backs, the offense was focused on throwing quick slants, outs and screens. Sam Howell was super impressive save for the 2 turnovers deep in his own end. But you can’t say he wasn’t great the rest of the game. Jahan Dotson was impressive and bounced back from a rough couple of weeks. However, Terry had a couple of uncharacteristic drops to stymie the offense when they needed it the most.

In the end, it was more of the same. With a Tuesday trade deadline fast approaching, it will be an interesting week in Washington.

The Jason Campbell interview was fascinating.  He was very open and honest about his career in Washington and how difficult it was once Joe Gibbs retired.  He often thinks about what might have been if Joe didn’t walk away and how far he could have taken the Skins.

He also talks about the art of being a QB and how so many things have to come together to be successful.  He gave tips and pointers to how Sam Howell can overcome the sack issues and whether the Commanders should trade backup QB Jacoby Brissett.

The list of people who belong on the bad list is pretty long.  From the top, Ron Rivera and Eric Bieniemy down to long snapper Cameron Cheeseman, not much went right for the Commanders.

Defense was a little better but still allowed the Giants to score 14 points.  Tyrod Taylor managed the offense well and kept the ball moving.  But in the 2nd half, Washington’s defense took over and sacked Taylor 4 times.  They forced 2 turnovers, one on special teams and a strip fumble of Saquon Barkley as the Giants were driving to score.

The Commanders still had a chance to tie the game late  and had a 4th and 2 at the 3 yard line but Jahan Dotson could not hold onto the pass from Howell and New York was able to kneel twice for the win.

On the other side of the ball, the Giants O-line is decimated by injuries.  They are starting guys from the practice squads of other teams and guys who literally were on their couch last week.  So the front 4 or 5 of Washington needs to dominate and stop Saquon Barkley.  Tyrod Taylor is not going to beat you.

We look at who missed practice today and Kendall Fuller did not practice for the 2nd day in a row.  That’s a concern.  We also addressed the trade rumor of Chase Young.  The trade deadline is just a couple weeks away.

Lastly, Stoner has a film session to look at how well Khaleke Hudson played against Atlanta and is pushing for more playing time.
