In this episode, Ricki Lee and Nicole Deslandes discuss the groundbreaking work of MetaBrainLabs, which uses AI and wearables to assist people with addictions throughout their recovery.

After gathering the thoughts of the good and the great in tech on their predictions for 2024, we thought we’d turn the tables on our own editorial team.

With 2 billion people expected to vote next year in around 50 countries, including some key tech territories such as the US, the UK, India and Taiwan, our reporter Nicole Deslandes speculates on the impact this might have on tech and what impact that tech will have on these elections, with deepfakes threatening to rock the balance of democracy in some countries.

At three grand a pop, there might not be a protype of Apple Vision Pro’s headset in TI editor James Pearce’s Christmas stocking this year, but he thinks this will be good news for sectors such as architecture, retail, factory 4.0 and healthtech.

And will 2024 be the year we leap into quantum, asks our deputy editor Ann-Marie Corvin. What exactly do we need quantum computing for, and will headline-grabbing use cases lead to more investment in the year to come?

In a podcast hosted by our inimitable mulitmedia journalist Ricki Lee, TI’s editorial team also gazes into its (metaphorical) crystal ball to look at future trends in greentech, healthtech and cybersecurity.

We also weigh in on the continued rise of genAI and what year two has in store for chatbots such as Google’s Bard and Open AI’s Chat GPT and how will this shape the way we work.
