There are ways to see the manatees that do NOT require getting in the water such as observatories, boardwalks, and even a boat trip. The manatees are protected by state and federal laws so Crystal Springs is a safe place for the sea cows. Guides are available to help visitors get the most out of their manatee experience whether visitors are in and out of the water. A guide for both individual and group tours is required to get in the water but are a great help for any tour. Chartered boat tours are also a great way to see everything. Travel Without a Passport

Many people believe you have to have a passport to take a cruise but that is only if it is a closed-loop cruise - which just means that the cruise starts and ends in the same place. It is still a good idea to have a passport if traveling outside of the U.S. Make sure your cruise line's guidelines though.

This Week: In this episode, Heather talks about "The Pivot" - you know, the Plan B travel plan when Plan A doesn't work out. Even the best made plans sometimes hit a bump in the road that throws everything sideways. It could be sickness, weather issues, a delayed or missed flight, or simply realizing you have planned a trip for the "wrong" time of the year due to extra hot weather, hurricane season kicking in early, or the expectation of big crowds because kids are out of school. Regardless of the reason- when traveling, it is important to always be flexible and have an alternate plan in your back pocket.

This "Pivoting" episode includes some great rules to follow. One bug rule is purchase the Travel Insurance. When things happen and a trip has to be postponed or cancelled, travel insurance is worth every penny! Also, when planning a beach trip or a trip that includes lots of outdoor activities like hiking or sporting adventures, ALWAYS have a Rainy Day Itinerary with indoor activity options for the whole group. Sometimes the days before leaving on a trip and the actually traveling can wear you out so build in a Rest Day or at least some down time at the beginning of the trip instead of jumping straight in with lots of activities or sight-seeing. This Week: Heather tells listeners about her family's second trip during Spring Break but their FIRST trip ever to Great Wolf Lodge Water Park in LaGrange, GA.

This quick two-day trip was just the right amount of time for her family to enjoy many of the programs offered. The water park area includes a lazy river, a wave pool, racing slides, giant slides, toddler zones, and a giant splash pad - plus, a hot tub just for the adults.
